"We were in search of a highly rated fish and chip shop that was not located directly on the beach, and we stumbled upon Fullers, a few streets away from the pier. We ordered a large cod (£8.50) and a large portion of chips (£3.95) to share. Despite the higher prices, we were initially pleased with our choice as the restaurant appeared to be busy and the cod was being cooked fresh to order. However, we were ultimately disappointed with the quality of the food. The cod, while fresh, had a thin and flaky batter that reminded us of school cafeteria food. The vinegar provided was watered down. The portion of chips, advertised as large, was laughably small - much smaller than what you would expect from a typical fish and chip shop and at a higher price. When I inquired about the portion size, a staff member dismissively shrugged their shoulders. To top it off, when we asked to dispose of our packaging in their bins, we were told they did not accept their own rubbish and were offered a plastic bag instead. It seems they are more concerned with packaging than quality. Save your money and opt for one of the more affordable and traditional fish and chip shops in the area instead of Fullers."
