"My family stopped by the tea rooms in the late afternoon intending to have tea and cakes, but after looking at the menu, we decided to have a meal instead. We ordered the steak baguette with chips, which was cooked perfectly to my liking, and the spaghetti carbonara, which was the best I've ever had. My children enjoyed their meals from the children's menu as well. The portion sizes were generous and satisfying. Despite the late rush of customers, the service was prompt and friendly. I would highly recommend this tearoom for its relaxed and family-friendly atmosphere, complete with highchair facilities and a dog-friendly policy. The charming rear herb garden added to the overall pleasant and calming ambiance. I definitely suggest paying a visit to this tea room."

This tea room in a charming village is top notch. The service is always friendly, the food is wonderful, and the chips are the best around.

Now that Town Mills has ceased doing Lunches and afternoon teas, Lewis's Tea rooms are an excellent alternative. Good quality food, well presented and at a reasonable price.

A quirky menu that goes beyond the normal tearooms. Now called mortimers the rarebits are nice and the moo burger is really good! Plenty of choice of teas and coffees and cake also if thats your thing.

When you find yourself in Dulverton, make sure to visit this charming tea room that is known for its friendly atmosphere. You can even bring your dog along with you. The food is delicious and the staff is very welcoming, just like the town of Dulverton itself.

Only stopped for a coffee, a really good roast, lots of taste delicious and mellow rather than harsh and bitter. Service was good and it was relaxing. Bought some rough cider but it tasted like it could be put on chips. The coffee 5 dots the cider a lucky 2 dots but overall a 4

Pleasant decor with interesting pictures and paintings, and quirky giant teacups set the scene for this high street tea shop. The staff were warm and welcoming (despite a behind the scenes disagreement) and in the evening they serve some truly fantastic artisan pizzas, with the meat lovers Carnivore a personal favourite, especially when accompanied with a bottle or two of Exmoor Gold. The Hot Chocolate to finish was also exceptional.

Stopped here for a quick cuppa, crumpet and scone. It took 10 minutes to be served, 10 minutes for tea and coffee to arrive which we had finished before any food arrived. After 30 minutes I cancelled the food. I presume it was the owner in the kitchen who was extremely unprofessional when being told by waitress to cancel the order. He shouted ‘really’ pretty loud for the whole place to hear. Shame he didn’t have the manners to come and apologise to his paying customers for the poor service. We were not the only ones that were waiting a very long time even for drinks.

This week I had the pleasure of sampling their Pizza menu, and was blessed with the best quality pizza 's I have had for many years. Their aromatic duck pizza was especially heavenly. This was the first time I have ventured into this establishment, and I found the surroundings quite pleasant. The owners were courteous polite. Whilst waiting I scanned over their dessert menu which looked very enticing. This alone would encourage me to revisit. If I was to have one minor criticism I would probably say the restaurant was alittle cramped. Perhaps 1 or 2 tables less might improve the spacing between tables. Unfortunately they only do the pizza 's Thurs-Sat evenings. Still we all need something to...

The George Inn

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
