"A little of a mixed reaction. This restaurant is not far from where we are staying and so we tried it out for a St Valentin's Day lunch. The food was well prepared and cooked and is imaginative - nouvelle cuisine, so not large portions and a limited menu allowing it to be well prepared. The layout of the tables was good - not too crowded BUT no table cloths and paper napkins - if we had eaten outside the chairs are plastic - so more café style than restaurant. This could be said about the toilettes too. Disappointing for the prices being charged 16€50 for a salmon cutlet with one or two each of a medley of about 6 veg BUT very nicely flavoured and served. We imagined that much of their custom is passing trade. We sat by the window and so were able to enjoy views of the snow capped foot hills of the Alps and the Lac de St Cassien - with the mimosa along the terrasse. We'll go there again as if we ring first we can get fish and chips on a Friday! A good experiance but a little expensive perhaps."

Went on a very sunny lunchtime in the beginning of March, so weer able to sit on the pleasant terrace overlooking the lake. It has a limited menu and the food is all the better for it. I had the roasted cod with vegetables and polenta. Absolutely superb.

The location is lovely but the restaurant itself is run down and does not feel very clean. The staff were appropriately friendly but not great when we were not happy. uninspiring menu, overpriced and trying to be something it is not. would never, ever go back. Felt completely ripped off.

Super views of Lac St Cassien, large outdoor terrace with plenty of shade. Friendly welcome and service. Limited menu augmented by good choice of daily specials, plus lunchtime 3 course menu also available on Saturday. My half pigeon was well-cooked with delicious sauce and fresh vegetables. They also have a beach with snackbar in high season, plus pedalos and canoes to hire. Voir le carte

Booked for nine people at short notice earlier in the day. Staff very accommodating and had a nice table set out for us right on the terrace with beautiful view of the lake. Food was good quality and particularly the seafood. Service was prompt and the atmosphere was great on a lovely warm summer's evening, with another large local group close by. Very accommodating to 2 members of our party - one with a sesame allergy and one vegetarian - (not so usual in France for a vegetarian to be so well received !) - a melon gazpacho - (sounds unusual but tasted fantastic). Staff spoke good English. Very child friendly.

After getting frustrated by the divertions because of the paris to nice cycle race we remembered that we had eaten at Les Arbousiers several years ago. We arrived very late to eat and Imthink they had finished service however they were nit put out at all and treated perfectly. We were not disappointed. We sat in the sun overlooking the lake. Faboulous views. Delightfully charming lady served us. Imthink another lady was cooking. We had veal chop deliciously rosie with salad and perfectly cooked french fries. Together with a glass of red wine it hit the spot!! Thank you very much. We will be coming back tomorrow on our way to nice airport!! I think we are going to be regulars.

Merci beaucoup. Nous reviendrons d... There are other small restaurants on this road which winds the old route through to Grasse. But they were all closed, thinking that the trade was done.Pleasant smiles to us, dust-stained travellers. Easy parking in a spacous carpark. The restaurant's name comes from the name of an unusual, evergreen shrub, right outside the door.Considering it was the off-season, we were surprised to see most of the tables on the paved terrace were occupied.I chose roasted Caille, which the lovely waitress explained was 'quail', with divine wild mushrooms and what my farmer dad used to call pig pototoes; the delicious little ones.[16.50 Euros].My friend had the house salad... prawns and all you'd want with i...

A second visit 7 years after the first and not at all disappointed. I almost don't want to share this as it's a little treasure. Situated peacefully on its own beside Lac de Saint-Cassien, it is all you need for a peaceful day beside a beautiful lake. It has a snack bar beside the lake, loungers and pedaloes but all very low key. Parking is free and plentiful. We received a warm welcome with a description of what's available. We said we wanted to sit by the lake and have a swim and return later for a meal. Nothing was a problem. We had an enjoyable meal with good wine and friendly service. It was an absolute haven after the busy and bustling coast (we don't normally holiday in the school hol...

"This restaurant is almost on our doorstep, but whenever we eat out we seem to get in the car and go somewhere else …We’ve been here a couple of times before and have always enjoyed our meal but, as we’ve been with other people, the good company somewhat overshadowed the meal. However, tonight, my wife and I went on our own (it was Saturday night after all). The restaurant has been in the same family since 1999, and they do not seem to be resting on their laurels. It’s on the main road between Grasse and Draguignan, down in the plain from Montauroux itself, and in an area which has seen commerces spring up, a little like an industrial estate. However, it is set back from the road, with plenty of parking in front, and the outside terrace dining area at the back is an oasis of calm and shade on a balmy evening like tonight. No mosquitoes either!Evening menus are at 28€ for starter/main/dessert (or 22€ for 2 of the three) or 48€ (if I remember correctly). Frankly the 28€ menu had all we wanted and our meals were well cooked, well-presented and very tasty. I loved the Gratin Niçois – a little like a ratatouille. We had previously looked at the menu on the website and were a little disappointed that the apple tart we fancied for dessert appeared not to be on the menu tonight. “No problem” said our host – and lovely, freshly-baked individual tarts were served …The wine list has many local wines (a plus point in my book) with local Provence wines in pichets and/or half bottles which is somewhat rare these days and great if only one of you is drinking. (The 50cl Châterau de Selves I had was good value at 12€ – a nice slightly spicey taste from the mix of Syrah, Cab Sauv & Merlot.)76€ for apéros, meal and wine for 2 had me leaving the place with a warm glow. I think we’ll be going back there again whenever we can find the excuse …"
