"What a wonderful time we had. It was my partners birthday which the staff did not until after we arrived but they produced a small cake with a candle. We were offered seconds of beef and Yorkshire puddings and cheese to follow our dessert. The meal was delicious, the staff achieved a perfect balance between attentiveness and not being pushy, the wine was excellent and the surroundings were so comfortable and relaxed. We will definitely be back. Many, many thanks."

Comfortable but old fashioned. The very formal dining room lacked atmosphere. The salad main course was poor, with the ingredients cut up too small, lacking a good dressing.

Lastingham Grange is Quaint with a capital Q. All the food is home baked/prepared and makes all the difference. Service is polite and efficient and the surroundings are delightful. If you're looking for a refined, relaxed afternoon tea experience then this is the place.

From booking to leaving perfect. Surroundings superb, lovely greeting by staff, overall excellent service. We had afternoon tea on the terrace. The meal was very well presented and a lovely selection of sandwiches and cakes, beautiful ingredients and flavours. Also it was lovely to have the freshly baked scones all accompanied by plentiful tea and coffee . Our thanks to all concerned.
