Without a doubt the best place we have eaten in Lucca. The set menu is highly recommended for the quality, variety and careful preparation of its ingredients. This place is amazing !!! They have a set menu and you get so much delicious food each dish was better then the next ! Appetizer, pasta , anchovies and dessert were all so tasty and different! Great cozy place with lovely courtyard. Very welcoming and warm staff, real homey feel. Food was great in general, some bits better than others, the stuffed mussels a personal highlight. It is essential to try this place if you are in Lucca. Not only are the staff delightful and efficient, but the food is great. We opted for a menu with appetizer and first course (which changes once a week), as well as wine, dessert, coffee and amaro. Those who appreciate fish cannot miss this experience! A corner of Liguria within the walls of Lucca. Very neat location. Staff eager to communicate Ligurian cuisine as well as making it savorable. The menu is fixed which I personally approve of because it allows much less food to be wasted. The appetizers and first courses are always different but always very good. Fried anchovies are delicious and the only certainty among the thousands of variations offered every time. The rigorously Ligurian desserts and coffee-killers are also excellent. Highly recommended.

A corner of Genoa in Lucca. Small but welcoming place with a typically Ligurian atmosphere. The owner, a very nice and empathetic person, welcomes guests as a good hostess by verbally explaining the two fixed menus designed for customers. The first course at €35 consists of an appetizer of 4 small dishes, a first course to choose between two proposals, a second course consisting of fried anchovies, dessert of your choice, wine, coffee and coffee killer. The €25 menu is the same as the first but with only one main course to choose from, including fried anchovies. The first courses and the fried anchovies are really very good. DINNER FOR TWO A warm August evening. Anciua Pesce Povero is a Ligurian tavern in the center of Lucca, with tables inside (with air conditioning) and outside, in an alley. The owner is a courteous and communicative lady, who told us that she chose Ligurian cuisine to remember her grandmother. The dishes change according to the fish caught. You can choose between two menus, one complete (appetizers, first and second courses wine one quarter each , dessert and typical seafood), the other the same as the first course but with one course less (appetizers first course).
