"We stopped by the cafe for a spot of lunch and what a spot! Stunning views over the reservoir and plenty of well placed seating! We had a bacon roll and latte and unfortunately whilst I was ordering go tempted by the amazing looking cakes so had to have a slice each.We wobbled on for the rest of our walk and were so glad to have stopped at this lovely spot for our refreshments.Pleasant service and a welcome toilet just what we needed!"

The coffee was extremely bitter, and there were no lunch choices besides pasties or sausage rolls. It's a shame because they usually serve delicious food. Overall, our visit was disappointing.

Rested here on return trip from family time in Cornwall. Picturesque location and a good selection of food. The staff could not have been more helpful and considerate. Will definitely be visiting again.

Even on a weekday in March, this charming café was bustling with activity. It's perfect for grabbing a coffee or a bite to eat after a leisurely walk, offering beautiful views of the lake on a sunny day.

We have been to Roadford Cafe a number of times and always enjoy a friendly welcome and a good cup of coffee, slice of cake or lunch. Sitting outside and looking at the peaceful view of the lake is a joy. Voir le carte

Over priced and no value for money I was overcharged for a hot chocolate, it was cold and tasted of nothing so I asked for her to warm it up and it was still the same, couldn’t drink it Lunch was ok but stale bread and the staff just didn’t seem to care Won’t be returning Voir le carte

Brought my elderly father here for a walk, for the first time since we have been coming this summer there was no queue for the ice cream, hurrah! But then disappointed, they cost £2.70 which I think is a bit inflated to begin but would have been acceptable if it had been a reasonable size, but was given a very small scoop. Another tourist ripoff. We just won't ever have another, and we stop off there quite often.

I visited the cafe yesterday for the first time in a couple of years and quickly remembered why I had stayed away. The staff were very unhelpful and rude. I didn't realize at first, but it was the same woman from last time who was rude to me, and once again I left feeling upset. I can't understand how she is still working there. I can't recommend this place to any of my friends. It used to be such a nice place. What a shame.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
