"Some Italian friends suggested this restaurant as The Place to eat fresh fish. It is located in a small town. Mariano Comense, just between Milan and Como, easily accessible by car. You can park nearby in the big parking space in via Risorgimento, or in the Piazza and walk to the restaurant. The ambiance is cozy and it is located in an antique Casale, refurbished to keep the original wood work visible. The restaurant is family friendly. It is better to make a reservation, since it is small and I suspect it fills easily. Obviously the menu is based on fish, prepared either following classical Italian receipts, or adding a more modern twist. Especially in the cold antipasti I notice the use of a more innovative mix (I tried the tris di tartare, delicious, and my wife the Tartare di Salmone con Avocado, superb). There is no meat on the menu. Where they shine is in the Primi Piatti. They have homemade pasta, which is rare now in Italy. My Linguine con Nero di Seppia were perfect, my wife tried the Paccheri with Coccio di Mare. Beside the menu, they also offer a selection of Piatti del Giorno, where I think they experiment new dishes. I was not able to stop and went into the Secondi, with a Branzino with Salt, a classic preparation from Tuscany. I was not wrong, it was perfect. My wife went directly to the dessert, a classic Panna Cotta with Frutti di Bosco. The wine list is design to match the fish selection. We had a Vermentino dell’ Elba, chilled at the perfect point, and matching our menu. What is impressive in this restaurant is the quality of the fish, and the accuracy in the preparation and presentation. It is would deserve one Michelin star. I hope they get it."

Although I had it on very good authority that the pasta di Vongole was the must-have dish here, we opted for the Tagliolini with Polpo and the one with Scampi and we were not disappointed!! Simple yet extremely tasty tomato sauce and we’ll cooked soft octopus and scampi. Could eat this every day!! The cook and his wife are very friendly and hospitable. Will certainly come back if I am in this part of Italy again.

"for us very negative experience: exorbitant account in exchange for portions of lillipuziane, ostentation of a luxury that then in reality it is more of a facade than anything else (the local is quite dizzy and the area where it is located is not at all from restaurant chik, the only shop nearby is an Arab minimarket,) and also at the level of goto of the courses frankly nothing exceptional, indeed ravioli with raw shrimp know for just butter. euro for two appetizers, two first, one second, wine glasses, tonic waters, coffee, aqua bottle. certainly it is right to consider also the micro-enterè offered along with the glass of bubbles (a large ravine like a taggiasca olive) and a pretty set of micro-pasticcini offered together with the coffee (however things not required) the account remains unjustified even because you rise from table with a certain curino cheese, and I assure you who is reading neither I nor my wife we are people from only abundant portions we never buy bread and when I cook a second consider gr per serving head; just to understand). Local that can work just in the briance where, I will never stank to support it, appearance is everything and people can't eat. I leave stars anyway and not because the staff is very courteous (although a bit 'autocelebrative and theatrical in the description of the courses) and overall we did not eat badly. I will certainly not come back, I am ocito for nothing rewarded by this quantum menu."

On the positive side: Pane e burro della Normandia salato MOLTO buoni, così come i grissini tirati a mano. personale preciso, puntuale e preparato ancorché giovane. No “WOW!” Effect. Rapporto qualità/prezzo non del tutto equilibrato."
