Jaipur - Carte

It's been a while since I visited this restaurant due to COVID, but it has consistently been the best Indian spot in the area for a long time. I'm happy to report that nothing has changed - it's still the best around.

2nd time visited this restaurant. Food excellent , staff excellent and friendly. Very clean well presented restaurant. I've eaten in many curry house restaurants this is a winer , highly recommended from a fussy critic.

I hadn't dined at this restaurant in many years since I had moved away from the area, but I recently went for dinner with friends and it was fantastic. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, as it was probably one of the best Indian restaurants I have been to in a long time. Voir le carte

This waa always our favourite restaurant with exceptional food but we ate in Sat Jan 18th and the food was dire and cold. Tarka daal bland, rice hard and dry and onion bhaji cold in the centre. I had a chicken tikka which usually comes to the table sizzling. The manager brought it out and it had been standing for a while. We have been coming here 15 years unfortunately we won't be returning.

I went to the restaurant on the last Friday before lockdown 2. The staff were unfriendly from the beginning and were not wearing their masks properly. When we asked for the bill and paid, they immediately pressured us to leave even though it was only 9.45. When we requested to finish our drinks, they threatened to call the police if we didn't leave. We had not refused to leave. Additionally, we were surprised by a £50 service charge added to the bill.

I would not recommend this restaurant. We ordered our mains whilst eating our popadoms and they arrived 5 minutes later, as our plates were being cleared. While I understand it takes a long time to bring out the full depth of flavour in a curry dish, there is no excuse for serving up old and dry chicken (resembling old rope). The flavours were ok but everything was reheated, even the bhajis. The service was functional at best. I have given this 2 stars purely because the flavours were as you would expect. Voir le carte

We went to this restaurant on Saturday night and had a dire experience. Despite the new COVID rules, no details were taken on arrival, and no rules or advice given. Consequently most of the customers were wandering around the restaurant with no masks on. People were queueing for the toilets in a very small area without masks. Even some of the staff had masks hanging below their chins. There was an altercation between 2 customers when one asked another to put a mask on, all very unpleasant. We waited an hour and a half for our food to arrive, despite chasing.

I have been going to this restaurant for around 12 years and have always rated it. The food was good and the wine excellent. Alas my last visit was awful. From having a great selection of wines including a rather splendid Californian Zinfandel, their menu now has a listing saying merlot, malbec, etc. No details of the make or even country of origin. I tried to politely say to them that maybe they should reconsider this policy as no restaurant of any worth would do this. They just started arguing with me and acted if I didn't know anything about wine. Very sad. Can't see myself going there again.

On arriving noticed their covid compliancy was rubbish as it seemed to be up to the customers whether they wanted to to wear masks. Half the staff were wearing masks across their mouths but not their noses. Took ages to get a drink. When my vegetarian platter arrived I bit into my vegetable samosa to find meat! Obviously called a member of staff over to complain and they didn't seem to see the problem but said they would replace. When they finally exchanged we were asked if the manager had been over but he hadn't bothered! I had gone off my food at this point. No apology at all! Will not be going back and will be warning all of my friends especially the vegetarian ones. Voir le carte
