"Came across this Thai restaurant whilst venturing around Upper Street in Islington Angel. This is not a cafe, this is an exquisite Thai restaurant that serves supurb Thai food in a lovely setting. We hadn't booked but were fortunate to be allocated a table, their is seating outside at the front of the restaurant, lots of seating inside but then it opens into this lovely outdoor garden area which really gives this place an unique and stylish atmosphere, it has a lovely ambiance with fantastic hosts so attentive and so professional. We chose The Chicken Dumplings £6.65 and the Spring Onion Pancake £3.00 as our starters, incidentally served very quickly. They were slightly greasy and luke warm but nevertheless you could taste the thai flavours oozing through every bite so we didn't mind. Our main courses were the Grilled Chicken Curry £12.90 and the Massaman Beef Cheek Curry £13.80 were both delicious. Succulent chicken and the beef was just so tender it was absolutely perfect, the flavours infused with every mouthful made these dishes. We both had the egg fried rice served with our curries which were reasonably priced at £3.50. The drinks served here are on the tad pricey side but that being said in fairness if you expect quality food, perfect ambiance you expect to pay slightly more for your drinks. The only negative criticism I can give is that the seating in the outdoor area could do with being more comfortable hence the 4 star review. In conclusion a lovely Thai restaurant not sure why they call it a cafe though as the name does not do it any favours as this establishment certainly doesn't look like a cafe, it doesn't feel like a cafe and it definitely doesn't charge cafe prices as the restaurant includes a 12.5% service charge. Highly recommend opens ever day 12.noon to 23.00. We noted that it closes 10.pm on Sunday's so beware."

We ordered dinner from Isarn. All dishes were delicious and very promptly prepared by friendly staff. Would definitely recommend as a takeaway option as well as sit in.

I highly recommend this restaurant. Dishes were so delicious. We ordered chicken and beef cury. Chicken cury was cooked very well and beef cury had an amazing taste. I especially recommend coconot rice as a side dish. This restaurant worths a visit and I am looking forward to going back.

the Isarn Cafe is now under the same ownership as the Gallipoli which happens to be the restaurant next door. There are a number of other 'Gallipolis ' in Upper Street. The Thai staff are, as usual, charming and helpful but the Turkish 'manager ' ? is abrupt and charmless. Very much a change for the worse

Enjoyed a really lovely quiet Sunday dinner in this little Thai restaurant. The food and service was great. Cannot recommend the duck red curry more! I also think it was a very good price for 2 starters, 2 mains (generous portions), a side and a bottle of lovely wine for about £70 with service. Cannot wait to come back! Voir le carte

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU VALUE GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WANT A PLEASANT DINING EXPERIENCE!!! It’s chaotic, They herd people in the door here, and have no time for you. The manager was horrendously rude to us when we politely asked for a warmer seat!!!! Disgusting behaviour completely ruined our night, and no regard for COVID regulations, everyone is crammed in!!!

I had a terrible experience at a Turkish restaurant that also serves Thai cuisine, which makes me wonder if it has changed ownership. The food was lukewarm and unappetizing. I paid £75 for 2 main dishes, rice noodles, and 1 vegetable dish at lunchtime. I could have had a much better meal for the same price at Ivy Asia. I would not recommend wasting your time here, especially since it was very cold due to the single-glazed skylights.

I went to this place with my friend for dinner. The seating arrangement was outside with a Turkish restaurant. Was seen to quickly by the waitress, ordered the food via the bar code on the phone. The food was really good, I ordered vegetable spring rolls which were nice and fresh and had a lovely crisp taste with a Prawn Pad Thai dish. I then had a dessert but it can from the other restaurant, it was mini a biscuit pie with ice cream which I wasn’t too keen of. All in all the place was a descent place to have dinner in and I enjoyed the Thai food. Voir le carte

I was disappointed with my experience at this Thai restaurant. It seems that a Turkish place took over and the two cuisines are now mixed. The service was unfriendly and there was a noticeable awkwardness among the staff. There was a short man, possibly the manager or owner, walking around and bumping into staff and customers. The food was subpar; the steak was cold so I returned it, the dumplings were burnt and not what we expected. The Silken Tofu was good, but the wine was warm and the new area's decor was unfinished. Overall, I will not be returning to this restaurant.

The restaurant experience was extremely disappointing. First, the decor was strange as the restaurant had combined with Gallipoli and the furniture did not match the Thai vibe. Secondly, the wine selection was poor, with only one flat and dull choice of Rose. The food was also disappointing, with starters arriving cold and lacking in seasoning. The main course of sliced beef steak on a slaw salad was tepid and the Pad See Ew noodles were overly sweet and lacking in greens. Overall, the meal was below average and not worth returning for, despite Time Out ranking it as a top Thai restaurant in London. We will not be relying on their reviews again in the future.
