"Was in Nordersted on business and our group decided on indian food one night so off we went to the Indian Temple. On entering around on a Wednesday evening the staff were really friendly, the interor looked traditionally Indian, lots of tables occupied and...a nice atmosphere. We shared starters and ordered individual mains, shared rice and nan bread. Starters were nice, fish, chicken and vegatable pakora. I then ordered Chicken Tikka Tandori with medium curry sauce. The food was nice, really tasty and flavoursome, as spicy as i like amd presented on a bed of onions and peppers on a sizzler plate. Staff throughout the night were great and nothing was a prblem. First time in an Indian restaurant in Germany, food was great and i would go back."

Best Indian food in Hamburg. If you ask for really spicy food you get it unique in the the restaurant. The service was excellent and very well.

The restaurant itself is small, u can never be sure if you will get a place without reservation, but food is really nice and service very friendly! Voir le carte

Really impressed with the food here. No problem swapping rice for a naan and a great Chicken Bhuna that compares well to Curry I have eaten in India and UK. Friendly service as well.

Place is nicely located in the heart of Barmbek. Atmosphere is good, smell is great and food is excellent. Prices are medium range. Please don't forget to ask for true Indian hotness of foods, else you might just get slightly spiced curries ... Far from...the true Indian Spice Paradise

Well cooked Indian food. If you have been much in India, lived there, or used to UK Indian style, ask them to make your food a bit spicy. The standard, is rather less spicy. Very attentive and pleasant service personnel/owner. Good draft beer, and King...fisher in bottle. Restrooms, down the stairs, are clean. Reserve table. Voir le carte

The manager went the extra mile for us because we were looking for a dish that was not on the menu, but we had known it from the old Indian Temple in Winterhude and their Chicken Pal was exactly the reason for finding the new...place in Barmbek. So the manager called the owner who we knew and who was in their second restaurant in Sasel... and he told the chef about the secret ingredients...and it tasted exactly the same. Great taste. We loved it! Thank you so much. And just consider putting it on the menu... The waiter was also superfriendly!

we went to dinner. the waiter was very unfriendly and rude. I don't eat a wobble and garlic and asked her if it is possible not to bring a wobble and garlic to the court. the answer is no, and the waiter said it is impossible to have Indian dishes without wobbles and garlic. What do you think about this answer? Do they not know that the really strict brahmins don't eat a wobble and garlic? I am studying sanskrit at the university hamburg. I feel we're being treated like we're idiots! I was in many Indian restaurants. in fact, some of them offer everything without wobble and garlic. some of them have some dishes without wobble and garlic. some of them are ready to change their food to satisfy...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
