"Couldn't fault the food it was really lovely. However staff are clearly incompetent as we ended up paying again for 2 Sunday dinners and a starter and when we complained they said we hadn't even though we had the receipts to show for...it. I went to the bar to settle my bill (2 dinners and a starter which came to £45) as I had to leave and asked the barman to take it off the whole bill for the table and he agreed. 30 mins later when the bill came to the table, they hadn't taken it off and charged the rest of the table another £45. My friends had to pay the difference as they said it hadn't been paid for so when we complained the day after and stated we all had receipts to show, they refused to accept it. Such a shame as there was a table of 12+ who really enjoyed the food and would have definitely dined here again (we were there celebrating a friends birthday), but the service was shocking. Surely they could have had a look on cctv, look at the till receipts, ask the bar man in question (he was young, had brown hair and was wearing a black beanie hat all shift not hard to miss). needless to say we won't ever being going back. Anyone looking to go food it really good, but be aware of staff overcharging you and refusing to pay you back"

The most delicious Sunday roast across London. Unpretentious hearty, the beef and Yorkshire’s are heavenly (although the parsnips need cooking longer and crisping up

Opulent without being pretentious. Sexy barman. Lovely cheese board. Perfect place to spend a Sunday evening. Great mix of locals and visitors. Definitely recommend a visit.

did you have the plumsters on a brat? especially when everything else, including the Yorkshire puddings, was overcooked. only no. the complete lack of distancing and the rude staff comes in. we will not be back. Voir le carte

positive eating was quite good service was in the really good negative tabs hardly a meter apart meaning people were even closer table was sticky and needed a good clean staff not interested when asked about the distancing question very loud, so not a good experience

on Sunday we fry with my wife and her parents. the roasts seemed okay if not spectacular. but my mother-in-law and I were both sick in the night forcibly. that day I had eaten nothing more. I'm not sure what they're betraying, but the food safety practices in the kitchen must be tested.

This is a local bar for us, Just up the road for our house and its a cool bar! Very friendly staff and and great place to go into, the beer was not as cold as it should have been so the barman asked if...i wanted to try another beer, i did and it was great so he swapped them over, no hassle, no fuss, all with a smile. Full to the brim of interesting things on the walls. Good all round. Voir le carte

the hunter s, was the kind of place where I feel that the Dalston/Shoreditch area was so good a comfortable pub with a load of strange S**t on the walls (mainly taxidermy, always popular under the hipster crowd.) at this point I had been in four other pubs/bars and so my memory of this facility is a little lazy. I know we have a few shady chairs and had a few more drinks (beer and wee, that is not cocktailable) until the place closed and we were led (I remember pretty hard) out of his doors. the hunter s is not on the main strip, it is a side street, but I think it is worth the extra bit trip. the opposite also has the haggerston and the fox and an evening in all three...read more

I don't even know where to start. the personal was exceptionally friendly and competent (especially the Brunette waitress on the white top [on 01-Sep-2020) and it made our jubilee dinner even more special than it was already. the atmosphere and the decor were absolutely excellent. very. different from where I was before (and I have lived in east london for a few years, and I am so sick of which we are different to be for the different so that we only serve sweet potatoes and if they don't wear a hat inside we don't go to serve them vibe), but they managed to balance the old classic English pubs with their own unique style. the eating was fantastic beat steak, hit rider, an excellent side of...

"A friend and I stumbled on to this neighbourhood restaurant by chance; no research, no booking, no expectations. We were then blown away by the quality of the food: wonderfully fresh fish, beautifully cooked. The service is also exemplary. I've always enjoyed calamari, but this was by far the best I've ever had: truly succulent and juicy. The mussels were almost as good, and the sea bream kept up the standard. The spiced quince with ice cream made a nice change from baclava in a Turkish restaurant (they still threw in some baclava). The owner, Tony, provides excellent recommendations — make sure you take them! He knows what's fresh that morning, and how his wife cooks it. The bill comes hand-written, and Tony forgot to include the wine (obviously I corrected him). I can't remember the last time a restaurant bill made a mistake in the customers' favour! No service charge is included, and it deserves a lot more than the usual 12.5%. This is a wonderful, old-fashioned restaurant, run by a charming old couple, committed to maintaining old-fashioned standards. The food is more than great and the prices more than reasonable. Service is personal, honest and responsive (providing Tony turns his hearing aid on). Tony warns you if anything you wanted was bought in, rather than home-made. Why don't unassuming but wonderful restaurants like this get Michelin stars?"
