"A visit to the Hotellerie “Hubertus” has been planned for a long time and has been overdue for as long as the exclusive restaurant has acquired a good name for years and, as you can read in various restaurant guides, has also been preserved. The kitchen is rated 3 tablespoons at the Aral Schlemmeratlas and the Michelin guide also praises the ambitious classical French cuisine of Josef Hubertus. In addition to two restaurants, Hotellerie Hubertus has approx. 20 rooms that can also be booked as an arrangement in the “Pampering Package with 6 Gang – Menu”. Several parking facilities are located directly at the house or approx. 150m further available in public parking. The Hotellerie Hubertus has a choice between two restaurants – according to the homepage with “light, Mediterranean cuisine” in the “Café Palazzo” and “innovative creations” from the French inspired gourmet cuisine in the cross vault. We had reserved a table for 8 p.m. and had to take advantage of the Bistro winter garden “Café Palazzo”, because the gourmet restaurant in the cross vault was closed this Wednesday. We were assured, however, that the menu for cross arches and conservatory was the same. Even though the interior in the gourmet restaurant with fireplace is more elegant, tastefully cozy and more dense, you still feel comfortable at Café Palazzo. The room is flooded, one sits on cozy basket chairs on bright terracotta tiles. Directly adjacent you can take place in beautiful weather on the small terrace of the house, at 10 degrees and rain as today of course not. Service The greeting was a bit bumpy, because we first stood at the reception for a few minutes until the head of the house was out of the kitchen and asked us to take a seat. She also came to the table and picked up a first beverage order. After that we were once again greeted by a young service worker who apologized for our waiting, in the next room a closed company had to be supplied with food and drinks and she was alone this evening. Otherwise, everything went without complaints, flotted, attentive and very friendly. The head of the house, who cooks together with her husband Josef Hubertus, took up the food order and went very competently on our special requests for food intolerances. Kitchen I found the menu well sorted and not too extensive, it ranges from simple dishes such as pork chips or roast potatoes with fried egg over frog legs and gourmet salad “Atlantik” to sophisticated classic French cuisine. We were very quick and chose appetizer 1. Swordfish Carpaccio with damselling and tomato at 12.50€ 2. Vitello tonnato – veal discs, tuna sauce, capers to 14,50€ main course 1. Zander fillet on lentil vegetables with small potatoes at 19,50€ 2. Duck breast with honey Balsamico Jus, vegetables and potatoes at 18,50€ As a greeting from the kitchen, warm freshly baked slices from the baguette were served with a very juicy herbal fresh cheese. Rating We were completely satisfied. For more than 35 years, Josef Hubertus, today assisted by his wife, proves that he understands his craft. His culinary creations convinced us. Quality and freshness of the ingredients were perfect, all dishes were perfect and creatively prepared and presented appealing. In detail, I save myself largely – the two appetizers – it was my first swordfish carpaccio – were a creative palate mouse. The duck breast, fried on the skin, perfect to the point, nicely tender in the bite, was a wonderfully aromatic meat enjoyment. The tasty rosemary spices, vegetables, leaf spinach, cauliflowers, cabbage rabies and carrots in thin slices, discreetly seasoned and cooked until fast, and in particular the dark beautifully thickened sauce, which harmonized with its excellent sweet – sour honey balsamico interplay perfectly with the ducks, could score points. Just as perfect was the absolutely trench-free zander fillet with beautiful crust and fine-aromatic white meat, to which there was a special supplement – the cook offered it when ordering – there was still a wreath of mussels as an extra. Here too, supplements and sauces have boiled. As a companion to dinner we had a large bottle of water (6 € and once the Fortant Merlot Rosé (0,1l to 3,50 € and a Rosé de l 'Ardeche (0,1l to 4 €), both light, tasty, fruity and well-tempered. Conclusion: ambitious, creative, upscale, but not upscale, Mediterranean and French inspired gourmet cuisine. 100% recommended"

We chose the surprise menu and made everything right! Were there with 5 people, once we had the menu without fish. Everything was incredibly delicious and on the spot, in the great ambience and with a delicious glass of wine passed the interludes as in the flight. Absolutely recommended and again at any time!! Rooms are priced at 110€ per night. The heating didn't work, the dust is visible on the cabinets, everything is rusted in the sink. The rooms were not made and the towels already advised were not exchanged. The carpet in the stairwell looks like you already have his emergency plan and the terrain in the 2nd place. The camp must not touch, from fear that it is made. Breakfast was made very good and prepared with everything. Despite breakfast, the price/performance ratio is not enough for 2 stars

Can't say anything about the hotel, but the attached caafë we can't recommend. Cake looked a little attractive. The cheesecake seems to have done it. Every Swabian housewife was ashamed to offer their guests. Then there was another cake as an alternative... was almost empty, yet it took a whole while until anyone even asked what we wanted. Maybe the big travel group had managed the staff before us. You almost got the impression as if we were not desired. Another 15 minutes later we learned that the banana cannot be found, which is why the ice cup ordered is not available. Well, I guess it was out of the dust... When we come back to Tholey, we will try the ice cream trolley in the square or t...

first it is necessary to complain that there is no on-site parking. at 100 m away public parking you can park between 8 and 17 o'clock only 4 hours (park disc.) we have done this, but with a longer stay there is the problem. the first impression from the hotel: in the years come, living carpet in the staircase house with broken and high standing carpet strip (stolperfalle.) then the room: cumbersome lighting, bothered especially in the bathroom. There is only a bathroom cloth for 2 guests, which was also frayed and torn in. haare in the shower. in the room the window frames inside totally stretched; really gross. the carpet in front of the bed at the corners strongly frayed and with stains....

"Supplement to my review of 06.11.2014 General With a friend I was on the road with the motorcycle and the small tour led us to the Schaumbergalm at 11:30. Ideal for foot-sick two-wheelers, because while cars have to park below the foam plateau, bikers can drive the remaining 200m with their companion to the top of the plateau. Since my last visit, the beer garden has been completely finished, one has built a covered wooden galley, on which – as the host Danny told me – music bands from the region play up to the guests of the Schaumbergalm every Sunday from 4 p.m. in the summer. There, of course, only literally, burns the hut on the Schaumberg. The Schaumbergalm was as usual well visited. Since a larger group of pensioners were picked up from their bus, we got a nice place on the terrace right in front of the restaurant right on the railing to the slope with magnificent view over the northern Saarland. But surely everyone will find a seat on the Alm, because the beer garden takes up 300 guests, but here you have to use yourself. Eat Since we both had breakfast late, hunger was not so great. My companion chose a small “hearty ham bread” with raw ham from the enticing, good-bourgeois alpine pass, first-class in taste and how spicy rich and lovingly garnished with two slices of hard-cooked egg, cucumber, onions, paprika rings red and yellow, radishe slices and leek rings, cucumber and tomato; all at the price of 4,20€. At Danny's time in Freisen, I have repeatedly ordered a Schnitzelweck, so today my choice for the “small” hunger in between. A freshly baked baguette bread, painted with ketchup and Mayo, salad leaf as a bed for a neat carving, lean, buttery and juicy, with great spicy panade, green slices and onion rings on top. Costs 4,70€, tastes and you get rich. Conclusion: also for the small time of painting or on coffee and cakes it is worth the ride to the Schaumbergalm"
