"We have visited this restaurant multiple times and always requested a table near the front door due to my husband's disability. This time, despite our request, we were seated at the back of the restaurant, making it difficult for us to reach the restroom. We had to inconvenience other diners and staff as we made our way back and forth. We have raised this issue before and have been accommodated in the past, but this time our request was ignored. We have been loyal customers for years, but this experience has made us reconsider returning. The food is usually good and the staff is friendly, but this time we felt neglected and it affected our overall dining experience. Despite an accident resulting in a spilled drink, our decision to find another restaurant to meet our friends is based on the lack of accommodation by the staff."

Overall the food was great although I would advise they work on the Roast Spuds (not as good as mine

We've always had very good food here. Lovely garden and decked areas for eating and drinking outside. Good Badger beers. Huge fish and chips! Yummy steak and ale pie. Very nice burgers. Voir le carte

The food was nice but a bit over priced for what you got. I didn't feel they had enough staff on to cope with the number of customers. So there was a lot of waiting and the staff seemed to be rushing.

This restaurant is average compared to others of its kind. The service was a bit slow and not as good as it has been during past visits. However, it should be noted that it was a Saturday evening, which is not typically when we dine there.

Four of us meet up every year here and food always good. Bit disappointed this year though. We all thought the Chicken Supreme didn't have enough sauce, kale a bit tough and potatoes a bit stodgy. Also my summer fruit crumble was a bit stodgy. Usually we have no complaints as its all been lovely. Venue really good and staff very pleasant and helpful. Will go again. Voir le carte

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at this restaurant. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. We appreciated that the establishment is dog-friendly, and we were able to buy doggy ice cream for our furry companion. The only downside was that the service slowed down as the evening progressed, despite the fact that most of the tables were empty at that time. Despite this, I would still recommend this place.

Not been to this Pub for a long time and yet I only live 2 minutes down the road. Met up with a friend of mine and was impressed on the inside of the Pub. After the drinks arrived we were then left alone for a while choosing our Food which was lovely as hate being rushed. The Food was very good and we both had Starters,my Starter was a welcome change that for once the Whitebait didn't come in Bread Crumbs or Batter. The Main Courses we had were simply fantastic and the Desert I had was very nice, but the only complaint I would have is that there wasn't enough Custard to go with the Fruit Crumble ! Looking forward to having another Meal in this Pub in due course.

"My mother and I had been following the Masterchef Pro comp ' last year and were really keen to sample some of the winner, Tom Hamblet 's, food. We travelled a 4 hour round trip for the experience. We don 't eat at fine dining restaurants often but we are foodies. Firstly, the setting of the restaurant is very lavish and comfortable with warm low lighting. That said, the dinner experience was a little too dark for my mother so that 's something to think about if you struggle with eyesight and low lighting. The service was friendly, attentive and speedy/efficient. The food: I 'll start with the dessert because that was a real pleasure for us. We both loved the flavours of Tom 's end of series winning dessert so the meal ended on a high (we ordered the Olive Oil sponge with lemon curd). I recommend not ruining your palette with the overly sweet petit four that are placed in front of you following dessert unfortunately ours were more sugar flavoured than any other identifiable flavour. Our starters and mains were very VERY underwhelming. They arrived looking beautiful, neat and tidy but failed to deliver on taste. I had wanted the celeriac themed starter but the waiting staff told me the vegan/veggie starters and mains were created by their head chef and not Tom. That was disappointing as his 3 month residency was the reason we 'd visited the restaurant. We ended up both having the lobster starters after the waiting staff recommended it highly as either a starter or an additional dish to share. The claw meat was minimal and tough and the foam mousse took centre stage on the plate. Whilst the plate had lots of textures to it, we felt it was unbalanced and generally with no 'wow ' to it. We enjoyed the coffee and rye bread with butter and pollen/fennel that came prior to this thought. I ordered the Guinea Fowl as a main after the waiter described it as a gamey, dark and tender meat. I feel like a better description to someone that hasn 't had guinea fowl before would be 'it 's like a chicken breast with a different flavour '. This is what arrived in front of me and I actually found it was quite dry and not dark at all! I would never have ordered anything that resembled chicken breast anyway so I felt ill informed about my choice. I also thought the girolles were overwhelmingly tart. I didn 't enjoy my main. Mum 's Hogget was nice but average for her too. Last comment I 've never in my life paid £6.50 for less than 1.5ltrs mineral water beware! I don 't care how much money you have it 's water!!!"
