"We visited Henlys during our holiday in Cornwall on a Tuesday evening, when they had a special deal—two basket meals for just £12. The bar area was quite calm, and the owner made us feel very welcome. They offered a nice selection of Cornish beers and ciders; I opted for a pint of Korev, while my wife picked a large glass of white wine. For our meals, I had the chicken wings and my wife chose the chicken strips, both of which were basket meals. Our son went for the baked cod from the specials menu. All three meals were delicious. For dessert, my son enjoyed a chocolate fondant, and I had an excellent lemon tart. We enjoyed our experience so much that we decided to make a reservation for the following evening to try the two steaks for £50 (I'll share my thoughts on that later)."

Booked into Henley’s last minute, and what a pleasure it was. Service was brilliant and our host, Emma (I think), was fantastic. The food was perfect and our steak was probably one the best we’ve had. Cooked to perfection (it’s amazing how many get a simple steak cooked right so so wrong) but not here, absolute perfection. We went in on Monday night, it was quiet but we were greeted by 2 really helpful and friendly staff members. They made a fuss of our dogs and brought them water. The food was excellent and so fresh! I had the burger which was delicious and I was stuffed afterwards. My partner had the steak which was cooked perfectly. We've enjoyed Henlys on several occasions over the past few months. We had a delicious meal at New, Year, which came with a complentary glass of fizz. We also loved the jazz afternoons they held. We have now booked Valentine's there, too. What we love about Henlys is that it offers a sophisticated, classy venue in Helston, where casual pubs tend to dominate. Change of owner warning. So what shown on the Google reviews cannot tell what the restaurant is these days. The service in the restaurant was okay but food was really not. We ordered one chill sweet chicken linguine and a burger with fried fish (can’t remember the exact name). We can’t reckon the noodles served can be considered as linguine in any ways, and the “linguine” was overly sweet. We even thought of asking for a bowl of water to put the noodle in so that it can downplay the taste. Meanwhile, the chicken was overcooked and hard to chew unfortunately. The burger was somewhat mediocre, the only merit of the dish was that the fries were relatively okay.
