Grischuna - Carte

We ate here twice during our two night stay! The lamb & rosti were the best anywhere during our 5 week stay in Switzerland. The atmosphere is what you expect in a small Swiss village & the staff helpful in English.

After a week in Arosa, we believe it is the best typical restaurant in Arosa. Warm and friendly atmosphere, very nice and quality food, lovely place. Last, but definitively not least, prices reasonable! A place to try!

We enjoyed our lunch at this small restaurant near the "Brüggli" in the upper parts of Arosa, on the main street . The Gerstensuppe (local soup) very, very nice. And the french fries with a Schnitzel superbe. Loved the interior decoration as well. Voir le carte

From the outside, this place looks like a standard alpine restaurant. However, don't judge the book by its cover: The food was really great! Also, there were several vegetarian options.Only thing they could improve: The staff was friendly, but more of a superficial than genuine friendliness.

Garish a seemed to be a very popular place amongst locals so we gave it a try. The food was very good with all the traditional items available (roesti, veal sausage, hunting menu...)The service was also fast and friendly and the decor inside the restaurant quite cosy. Be careful when you order though the portions are fairly large by Swiss standard.

My husband and I visited Grischuna for a quiet dinner.We were treated to a beautiful,traditional wood paneled dining room, candlelit table and a fantastic menu. I eat no red meat and found the fish selection to be interesting and very good.The Swiss specialty my husband ordered was delicious and perfectly prepared.The wine list is filled with a great selection of Swiss wines which we love.The chef/owner personally greeted us which made the evening even more enjoyable.This is a restaurant you should not miss if you travel to Arosa. We had lunch at the Grischuna about three times last winter. It is better known for its meat and game dishes, but their homemade Spinatpitzokel was love at first try and we never got around to sampling anything else - apart from fish and chips for the kids. The restaurant is very popular so service can be slow. It is not cheap, but I think good value for Arosa. Reservation recommended.Spinatpitzokel by the way is little spinach dumplings (spätzli). It was served in a cheesy creamy sauce, very moreish and perfect on a cold winter's day. A delicious option for vegetarians, or for anyone who likes hearty Swiss cooking.

We squeezed into the Grischuna at lunchtime, trying to get a quick turnaround in time for the resumption of ski school up the road. We booked for four, but made life difficult for the restaurant by bringing along two additional people. We were accommodated without fuss, and the owner even managed a smile (eventually - although I can't blame them for being stressed).There's lots of choice on the menu, including several vegetarian options, more than you might get at other restaurants in the area. We stayed at The Stoffel Hotel about .5 mile from the restaurant. Although the Stoffel has a lovely restaurant on premises, it has a prix-fixed menu at $54.00 with a choice of only 3 entries, mostly beef. Since I do not eat beef (although my husband does) I prefer more choice and not have to pay for dessert which I do not eat. The wonderful Mattias at the Hotel Stoffel (highly recommended for a comfortable stay and views to die for) suggested Grishuna as we could walk there easily from the hotel..The first night my husband ordered soup and Noodles and King Prawns, and I ordered a green salad and Mushroom Risotto, and we had two glasses of the local beer.
