We were staying at The Hotel Italia and the man at the front desk recommended Ristorante Giovanni for dinner. It was just around the corner and we were able to get a nice table in the dining room without a reservation. The restaurant decor was very nice and the food and wine was very good and only 95 Euros.

Dined here 2 nights in a row. Brilliant food and service. The pepper steak is the best steak we have had in years. The seafood and deserts are also wonderful. The wine list is great (they have a huge cellar). The restaurant is in a quiet area close to Porta Nuova railway station. I noticed some negative reviews on trip advisor in English. Ignore them . Read the Italian reviews. When we were there the restaurant was full of locals.
