"So.... as a table of two we arrived and waited to be greeted whilst four members of staff stood around talking. Whilst two noticed us, none came to take our names and lead us to our table for almost five mins. There was only one other table seated and so it was quiet. Tables and chairs are battered and old. Ordered a cocktail to start, which took almost half an hour to arrive. When it did, the wine list and wine glasses were removed I had to ask for them to be brought back as we would probably have a glass of wine over our meal. Ordered two steaks, two sides of chips and one green beans (plus a glass of red wine . I was in tears laughing as it took three people to open the bottle of wine two staff were watching on in amazement as the third used a bottle opener. The steaks arrived on cold plates forty minutes after being ordered. And the sides did not arrive until we asked for them I could see them on the counter getting cold. The steaks were 7/10, the green beans were 9/10 but the chips were dreadful. Billed as triple cooked, I am 90% certain they were quadruple cooked and were from the previous evening but reheated. And all this for the price of £190 Awful place with the only redeeming feature being the green beans (and the cocktail was nice!"

Food only ok for the price nothing better than you’d expect in your local pub. Service not that great. Peppercorn brandy sauce £3.50) lacked any flavour and was runny. Overall not great value for money Voir le carte

Beautiful restaurant. Fish and chips is very good. Picanha steak is not as good. Probably not a real picanha it taste like New York steak. Service is also great and attentive. Will probably come again.

Overall experience was horrible. Very unfriendly right from when we entered. Booked a table for 7 people and they managed to get the order wrong , so much so that they ended bringing food ordered for only 6 people.

I visited Gillray’s for lunch with my friend to celebrate her birthday. Outstanding professional service as well as entertaining conversation with the waiter. Would recommend if you are looking for an amazing steak experience. Voir le carte

Saturday, 3rd Feb 2024 Excellent environment and views across Thames. Blue fillet excellent. Medium sirloin undercooked and chewy. Coffee came before dessert. 12.5% service charge included on bill plus a further space for tips.

Not welcomed in bar area, had to ask to go to restaurant and take own drinks through and had to ask to hang up coats. Food overpriced for basic hotel meal. Eating off pre theatre menu... ordered pudding that hadn't arrived and they then said it takes 20min to cook! Don't put that on pre theatre menu without warning customer! Paid bill, 12% service charge automatically added then card reader asked what tip to add... cheeky! Plenty of staff but they need some decent training!
