"Went for dinner here with grandson ordered mince and tatties, steak pie and chips and a kids sandwich meal. It was a bitterly cold day and we almost left as a joiner was fixing the fire escape doors which were wide open so cafe was freezing. However, he was finishing up just as waitress arrived so ordered mince and tatties, steak pie and chips and a kids sandwich meal. I loved the steak pie really excellent puff pastry, lovely meat and gravy and plenty of it. Good chips and veg too. Other half also enjoyed his mince and tatties. Bit disappointed in the kids sandwich meal one slice of bread only, wee bottle of juice and one scoop ice cream for £4.50 really not worth it at all. I would go back as the service was good and adult meals lovely have given lower rating due to place being freezing and poor kids meal (they really should have had this job done when cafe was closed)."

Friendly staff. Hidden gem behind indoor market. Great food and good choice at reasonable prices. Recommended.

I visited this cafe with my dad. The rolls were good, but they were expensive, and they only sell draft juice. We won't be back

I came back to this restaurant for a delicious and affordable Christmas lunch. The service was excellent. I will definitely be returning here in the future.

I had a delicious meal of chips, pie, and beans with a buttered roll and a cup of tea. It had been years since I treated myself to this traditional dish, but I won't wait so long to have it again.

Wife and I popped in late afternoon. Oap’s get tea or coffee half price. We had homemade sones and a large capocinno each £5.75. The sones were fab coffee large and very hot. What value, we paid just £11 in a garden centre near Glasgow for the same. A little hidden gem.

The food at this restaurant is excellent, but unfortunately, the staff is not up to par. I have visited many times before, but it seems that the staff has changed for the worse. The young girls working there seem disinterested in their jobs and are rude in their interactions with customers. It is a shame to see a once great place deteriorating like this. The management should address the behavior of the waitresses.

We were 4 Canadian adults who stopped in for coffee and a bite to eat before visiting Dean Castle. We had read the review on Tripadvisor and decided to stop at this cafe. Initially, we had difficulty finding it as the cafe is at the back of the building which includes many small stores at the front. We kept searching and finally found it and were glad we did. The cappuccino and americano were hot and a good size. The scones were fresh and the tastiest that I have eaten. This was good value and tasty as well!

"My husband and I bought an itison voucher for brunch for £29 for The Sorn Inn. When we arrived at 12 we were the only ones in the restaurant. I ordered the eggs benedict with the sauce on the side and my husband ordered the full scottish breakfast. We had to wait a while, I'm unsure how long exactly but we weren't too bothered as we thought our food was all being made fresh. When it arrived, my husband's food look really nice. No complaints there. My eggs benedict consisted of 2 cold toasted slices of bloomer bread. One with 1 slice of fried bacon on it and the other with 1 poached egg. The hollandaise sauce was in fact mayonnaise. I called the waitress over and told her this wasn't what I ordered. I ordered eggs benedict which was stated on the menu as a toasted muffin, ham and poached eggs with a hollandaise sauce. She was lovely. She apologised and said she would take it back to the kitchen. After she done this she returned and said that there was no muffins left and would I like to order something else. By this point my husband was halfway through his breakfast. Why was eggs benedict even on the menu if there were no muffins?? I told the waitress I would have the full scottish breakfast then. By this time there was 2 other tables filled and the eggs benedictwas still being sold. Our waitress brought me over another coffee while I waited on my breakfast. It wasn't quick. It was alright when it arrived. But not great. The toast was still cold and there wasn't any butter. Zoe our waitress was wonderful. Whatever the owners are paying her, just isn't enough. She was apologetic, attentive and calm under pressure. Why didn't the chef tell Zoe to take the eggs benedict off the menu as it was still being sold when we were leaving. What kind of chef thinks cold toast, bacon and mayo is eggs benedict? We have been to the Sorn Inn on numerous times before and the food has been outstanding. Such a shame as we do like to eat out and support local and smaller restaurants but we won't be hurrying back."
