"We chose to dine in, it had seating but it's predominantly a take-away service so there were three tables to choose from. The service was quick and polite, with food being freshly made. We arrived not long after Umami opened, so the staff serving made sure the table we at was wiped down and clean for us. The food was said to be out roughly 15 minutes from ordering but it came out quicker than that. My sister ordered teriyaki tofu bento with duck oishi steamed buns (eyes bigger than her belly! Whilst I had tempura aubergine with vegetable gyoza. My sister enjoyed the bento buns, flavouring was lovely, generous amount of everything! She almost fell in love with the buns after one bite and her inner gollum came out. The tempura was very hot, but light enough to not feel stuffed as was the gyoza, pleasant and definitely able to enjoy everything. "I honestly expected amazing things when I ordered a custom cake for my boyfriend for his 23rd birthday. After seeing the amazing cakes they produce I put in an order, sending reference photos and description of how I wanted the cake but collected it today feeling like my cake was missing that amazing appearance I've seen from their others. I requested a cake covered in brick wall, only 1/3 of the cake has that on and the rest is just plain white buttercream, I also requested an amazing and colourful graffiti piece (shown in reference photo sent to them) to go on the cake! This was not portrayed at all... the graffiti is a small paper looking design, different colours than in the reference and completely different style/font, unfortunately nothing similar to the photo shown from me and this was honestly so disappointing. I paid £45 for a cake I was so excited to collect and gift to my boyfriend, only to leave feeling slightly ripped off and sad. I would've appreciated it more for them to tell me if they couldn't do the design I wanted and then I would've not ordered."

"My wife and I were visiting her Mom in Gravesend from the U.S., which we do at least once a year. We 've had many meals at many restaurants in the area. This was my favorite. I wasn 't overly excited by the word seafood in the name, but five of us each had something different and each of us raved about our choice. We had swordfish, sea bass, ravioli in salmon cream sauce, homemade pasta with veggies and traditional beef Bolognese. The chef and his wife, Josephine, own the restaurant. He does the cooking and she is the waitress. They could not have been nicer not more welcoming. My in-laws plan to go back this week. My wife and I will look forward to returning to The Boys on our next visit."

"Good food...when it finally arrived. We've been here twice now as a family of four. Both times there were spare tables so the kitchen wasn't overwhelmed but the service was so so slow! We thought the first time was just a bad night but after a repeat performance we definitely won't be coming back. It took 1.5hrs for the mains to arrive and we had to ask where they were. Every other table had eaten their mains so the kitchen was literally just cooking our meal. When I asked where it was, the young man asked another member of staff but noone bothered to come and apologise or update us as to where our meals were. Such a shame, nice food but won't be going back."

"Great little diner, my food was great, my husband said his burger could have done with more seasoning but other than that great, prices are okay only thing is it seems a little rundown and the floor looked quite dirty (not sure if this was just the aesthetic or just not clean), i was also a little dissapointed as when i checked online before i came (i always check menues as i have food intolerances) and had previously chose what i would have and when i arrived they informed me that this menj was only available at certain times so what i origionally wanted wasnt available, I would reccomend the breakfast I ordered though which came with the tater tots,"
