"I went for Sunday lunch at this restaurant and was extremely impressed. The food was delicious and the service was fast and attentive. There were plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options available. I will definitely be returning in the future. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and is dog-friendly in the bar area. The menu had a fantastic selection for vegetarians and those with gluten allergies. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly outstanding. I would rate the service and location both a 5 out of 5."

"We have been loyal customers for many years, but today's experience was extremely disappointing. We waited 30 minutes for our drinks, and when they finally arrived, we were told that the server was new. While understanding, I politely reminded her about our order. Despite this, our food never arrived, causing stress for my 90-year-old diabetic mother who needed to eat. After 45 minutes and another reminder, we were met with annoyance rather than politeness. As a restaurant owner myself for 14 years, I know how busy it can get, but the restaurant was nearly empty at that time. When the food finally arrived, it was subpar - my bacon and Brie were mostly fat, while my mother's turkey was mostly stuffing. No one checked in on us or apologized for the delay."

"Came across this pub by accident when we got diverterted off the A47 during lunch time. Looks very inviting from outside, massive garden. Inside very welcoming, traditional looking pub with fireplace and beams. Lots of choice on the menu, with specials on offer. Staff were very, very friendly, explaining soup of the day and the days daily fish catch available. Large choice of beers available, lots of tables in bar and restaurant area. More than happy for our two dogs in the bar area and made us all feel very welcome. Food was fantastic with large portions I'm glad we didn't opt for a starter, but from what we saw, they looked fabulous) Very big piece of fresh tasting fish, lots of scampi, chips were perfect. Could not fault anything about the pub, food, service, everything was to very high standard, quite glad we got lost really, well worth the additional miles, highly recommended. "Nous avons tous les quatre eu un repas agréable, le service était assez bon, nous n'avons eu qu'à demander quelques choses. Personnellement, j'ai eu le plat principal de bar que je pensais être une petite portion et pas très bien assaisonné, la pomme de terre sur laquelle il était servi était fade. Pour être honnête, nous avons tous dîné ici auparavant et nous nous attendions à mieux. Je ne sais pas si les portions ont été réduites, en raison du programme Eat Out. Dommage vraiment car j'y penserais à deux fois, avant de revenir"

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
