"When the Vietnamese restaurant reopened in Moritzburg, we regularly picked up some food (V6). In recent months, however, prices have been increased which were already very high. When I wanted to try the traditional Vietnamese dish (Bún chả Hà nội), we asked for €17.90. The meat was tough, not tasty marinated and as Asian herbs there was slightly brown iceberg salad. Compared to Dresdner restaurants, e.g. Côdo: Here you get the same dish for half price, much better in taste, delicate meat and fresh herbs and salads."

"Meine Familie und ich waren begeistert vom Schloss Teichhaus. Wir hatten letzte Woche einen Tisch reserviert und durch viel Stau auf der Autobahn kamen wir fast 2,5 Stunden zu spät. Natürlich haben wir die Gaststätte telefonisch darüber informiert. Statt genervt von uns zu sein, war die Frau am anderen Ende des Telefons stets verständnisvoll und einfühlsam gewesen. Als wir dann im Schloss Teichhaus ankamen, war der Tisch noch immer für uns reserviert gewesen. Wir haben uns sehr darüber gefreut. Und dann kam das Essen Dieses war ein Genuss. Man merkt, dass es selbstgemacht und qualitativ hochwertig ist und kein 0815 Fertigessen. Und auch preislich war es für die Lage absolut fair. Des Weiteren war die junge Kellnerin sehr freundlich. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen und die Gaststätte auch jederzeit weiterempfehlen!"

"We wanted to have a late lunch on Easter Sunday. A table just opened outside, so we started moving to him. The very stressed waiter came and ordered us to do without sitting. Then he cleared the table next to us and gradually began to delete our table. While he did, he sweared. We were sitting. After about five minutes he waits with the menus. With one of them he beat my father-in-law (not appropriate, but he did not apologize. After another five minutes he came back and told us he hopes we have a lot of time. It takes an hour to get our food. Then we left. When we arrived, the restaurant was no longer full (it was around 3PM . I can understand that there is a lot of stress on a sunny Sunday, but these usually do not come surprised as not Easter. I expect the staff to be professional (and swear is certainly not!) . I would certainly not recommend this place."

""Where shall we eat in Moritzburg?" we asked our hosts before we set out from Dresden.Adams Gasthof, they said. Right across from the Schloss. Hmmm. Something to take under advisement.The GPS took us off our track and into a snowdrift. A fellow from the village came along and helped me push. Back onto firm ground -- "We're actually trying to get to Moritzburg. Which way should we go?" Forward to the church, left, then at the traffic signal right... "Danke vielmals! Und noch eine Frage - in Moritzburg wo sollen wir essen?"Adams Gasthof, he said.Well, that decided it. Adams Gasthof it would be.We came down the main street of the town, across the little narrow-gauge railway tracks, past the various hotels and shops... no signs for Adams Gasthof, or none that we saw... Hmmmph. Had we missed it? We were at the Schlossteich, the castle's moat-lake... oh, the hell with it. Left-hand turn along the road that parallels the lake's bank. And, to take another run past the various shops and signs, first left again, and -- and by golly, there on our right it stood, Adams Gasthof, parking in the courtyard or behind. Goal! Goal! Goooooooaaaaallllll! (Well, we were hungry after all that pushing.)For centuries the place has served travellers through Moritzburg from its privileged location at the castle gate, a gift of the Kings of Saxony. The architecture and the menu both drip tradition: High ceilings, dignified plasterwork, and tall windows with white frames and mullions set off the dark wood of the entryways, the blond wood of the parquet floors. Bits of ungulate skullcap and antler are everywhere overhead, which I mention only in case you're morbid that way. Carp, and not a hint of mud in its flavour, from the castle's waters, venison, red cabbage with apples, potatoes with gravy, a proper salad, good beer all contributed to an excellent meal... but dreadful "Christmas music" over the in-house tannoy took away from it. And, as too often still in what used to be East Germany, standard credit cards were not accepted.Our Dresden hosts, our village car-pusher, both were right to recommend Adams Gasthof. We recommend it too, as long as you have a decent wodge of cash in your pocket; certainly you'll enjoy the food and the decor. (Look out for the stuffed fox smoking a pipe.) And if you elect to go, as long as it's not in the run-up to Christmas, you probably won't have to listen to Michael Jackson rendering, in both senses, O HOLY NIGHT -- so your meal will be much happier than was ours."

"Wir waren zum Mittagstisch mit drei Personen in diesem Gasthof essen. Die Bedienungen, sind nach unserem Eintreten in den Gastraum, ignorant an uns vorbei gelaufen, so dass wir keinen Tisch zugewiesen bekamen. Dies hatte zur Folge, dass der einzigste freie Tisch von einem nach uns ankommenden älteren Paar (sie kannten sich wohl schon aus) direkt besetzt wurde, nach dem sie sich hinter uns vorbei Zutritt verschafft hatten. Auch wenn es manchmal stressig zugeht in der Gastronomie, ankommenden Gästen sollte man immer Beachtung schenken und Sie willkommen heißen. Es war recht viel los und der Biergarten war auch geöffnet, daher haben wir ab Bestellung ganze 55min auf unser Essen gewartet. Die Bedienung hat sich dafür auch entschuldigt, aber wir hätten uns bei einer derart langen Wartezeit wenigstens eine kleine Aufmerksamkeit des Hauses gewünscht, um die Zeit zu überbrücken. Das Essen hat geschmeckt, wobei ich nicht verstehe, dass man bei Schnitzel mit Kartoffeln, nicht wenigstens eine kleine Schale mit Soße dazu stellt. Wer will schon trockene Kartoffeln essen. Ein großes Manko ist aber, dass man nur mit Bargeld und nicht mit ec-Karte bezahlen kann. Für mich, in der heutigen Zeit völlig unverständlich."
