"This was my first visit to the restaurant after it had been renovated. The atmosphere seemed fine, but I preferred the previous Flava with its comfortable armchairs. I decided to order macaroni and cheese with garlic bread and hand-cut thick chips. I thought that it would be a safe choice, but it turned out to be absolutely terrible. It looked like pasta swimming in a watery orange sauce that didn't taste like cheese at all. In fact, it tasted more like smoked ham, which worried me because my daughter is vegetarian. I struggled to eat even a third of it before giving up. The cheese was so runny that it soaked into the garlic bread that was placed on top. The chips were stale, and I couldn't believe they weren't old and reheated in the microwave. They were tough and chewy, so I left them as well. When I asked why the meal tasted so strange, I was told that the chef had used a smoked fruity cheese to make the sauce. It was far from tasting like traditional macaroni and cheese, just disgusting. I was offered an apology and asked if I wanted a dessert, but when it wasn't offered as complimentary, I declined. I won't be returning to this restaurant if they can't even serve a decent, basic meal with fresh chips, especially at a cost of nearly £30."
