"First went a couple of months ago: Great welcome, great atmosphere, fabulous fish and chips cooked to perfection in beef dripping!!! Returned a couple of weeks later looking forward to a repeat performance: Great welcome, quieter in shop and fish and chips were much smaller, although the taste was still excellent! Returned end July as part of my birthday celebrations, only to find shop closed due to 'new arrival in the family '!! Went back last week: No greeting, no customers and tripped over the sombre atmosphere in the shop. There seemed to be a new fryer, who was learning. He was doing his best, but had no support from the owner and usual fryer. Fish was tiny, undercoojed and extremely greasy sat upon a mountain of lukewarm, greasy chips...... Not his fault, btw he needed guidance!! I WILL return, soon and trust all will be back to usual standard "

Always good best fish and chips in the area .but the service is very slow they cook to order so be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes

Decided on fish and chips on one of our nights staying in the village and had been here on previous visits. We chose to eat in at one of the tables which is a very welcome bonus and means you get to eat every fresh from the fryer. The food was gorgeous, great sized fish which was lovely and white and flakey with superb batter. The chips and mushy peas were also excellent. The young lad on the fryer certainly knew what he was doing and asked how everything was and seemed genuinely proud of what he was producing. As good as any fish and chips we've had
