family-run restaurant with classic Franconian cooking. especially the excellent kitchen stands out. in no other restaurant lives the aura richard wagners as here. an absolute duty visit for featgame guests!

delicious! the small quiet garden is cozy and friendly guided. waiting time you have to buy but this is reflected in the quality. the suppe is presented funny and have ordered them the third time. beautiful cool kitten to turn off everyday

Friendly old style family restaurant in a small alley in old Bayreuth. Nice choice of chanterelle dishes when in season. Pleasant terrace makes this a good lunch option. Inside wood beams and heavy furniture give the restaurant a traditional feel.

I'm very honored to write the first English language review of this restaurant. I went to this establishment while in Bayreuth for the festival this past summer. You get a great sense of history dining in this restaurant with its association with the composer Richard Wagner. Unfortunately the menu is only in German so you do have to work your way thru it. As far as I can tell, the staff also is only German speaking but they were all very welcoming and contributed to the overall experience. The food is local cuisine; heartily and delicious. Don't expect anything fancy, just a very well prepared and satisfying meal. I hope to visit this restaurant again on a future visit to Bayreuth.
