"Mi hanno portato degli amici a questa bella locanda garibald. luci morbide, eleganza, atmosfera dei tempi passati, in lontananza si sente il rumore di un mare immaginario, si percepisce il senso di un'avventura, una spedizione dei mille sapori pronti ad invadere la vostra anima e palato. il proprietario, tranquillo, tranquillo, vi accoglie immediatamente con la sua gentile e giocosa curiosità, si avvicina al tavolo per sapere chi viene da lui, che entra nel suo tempio di amore per il cibo e l'essere umano. Egli ripete spesso che dobbiamo tornare ad essere un bambino, e subito è chiaro che la cucina che propone è un gioco tra tradizione e innovazione. nessun menu, nessun codice, è il proprietario, juseppe, l'incarnazione del menu, e snocciolarlo come un rosario, con occhi chiusi, interiorizzando i sapori, quasi li ha ottenuti anche mentre li espone con una dizione attoriale, e si sa che si sta assistendo a un rito, una rappresentazione sacra, come sacra deve essere arte, in questo caso culinario. la moglie mirella in cucina è il complice di questo meraviglioso crimine! e se non sembrasse quasi offensivo, direi che Mirella fa l'amore a tutti noi, dandoci piatti intensi, emozionandoci con evocazioni e combinazioni che stupiscono, prima la mente e poi il palato. Non in dettaglio, non ora, devo tornare indietro e prendere appunti, so solo che ho mangiato una pasta cremosa al pistacchio di bronte che mi ha turbato, lasciandomi un assaggio in bocca che era un invito alla meditazione della gioia appena passata. Non è solo una locanda, è arte, filosofia, teatro e soprattutto amicizia. senza dimenticare i bellissimi camerieri, ex giocatori di tromba, donne vitali e simpatiche, personale scelto con intuizione istrionica, per dare l'avventuroso, l'avventura di un'esperienza, fortunatamente, ripetibile. Grazie per tutto. la vita è ancora un mistero."

"Driving towards Varese we stopped for dinner at this Osteria. The restaurant has a cinema theme with lots of pictures of film stars adorning the walls and is popular with locals. For dinner we started with a selection of antipasti and a Grumello wine. Then for our main course we had various plates to share, consisting of veal, braised beef, risotto, polenta, amongst others. The Ghemme wine was excellent. Overall, an enjoyable dinner with a great group of friends."

"Let me say it in advance: this review is mainly for tourists. I'm pretty sure locals know enough about Ristorante Teatro from its long celebrated history as one of the most classy and refined culinary tradition in Varese. Ristorante Teatro is the right place if you are looking for an elegant, yet tastefully informal place where to get dinner in the historical downtown of Varese. I visit Italy once a year and each time, if I have a chance, I stop there for dinner with family. My favorite is the spaghetti all'astice, one of the dishes Ristorante Teatro is famous for. Last time I've been there I also enjoyed il polpo ..but I can't recall the name of the recipe it was served with.. . Let the owner suggest you about the wine: I had one of the best Cabernet Sauvignon I've ever had a chance to taste in my entire life. Let me say it was served a bit too cold but that didn't affect the experience at all. During the summer the outside patio is the best way to enjoy the location as far as it's not raining ...as it happened to us.. . The quality of food, wine and service are worth every single penny, if not more, you pay for. You won't regret your experience there."

"I decided to take a mix of appetizers between skewers and rolls accompanied by special sauces and flavored in a skillful and different way and I must say that they made the taste of the dish more intense and pleasant. Then as a first dish I took a coconut milk soup and chicken accompanied by white rice. I must say that the taste between sweet and salty in this dish is well balanced also thanks to the taste of mushrooms, the probable low presence of ginger and rice accompanied. Finally I decided to take a dessert made with rice flour and steam coconut with coconut crumbs above. The crumbs showed the touch that gave more flavor to the dessert since after a menu of many different tastes this dish was very delicate of taste and well balanced with the rest of the menu. The staff was friendly and courteous, to explain every single dish and the right accompaniment for each of them after what quality and price for my parer are more than deserved."
