"Decided to eat here today after taking our children swimming and it was so lovely to eat somewhere that caters for very young children. We took our 10 and 3 year old and my 3 year old was able to order from the tots menu and actually use cutlery suitable for his age! As a family we always have to pay for a meal that is far too large for our youngest but today was perfect! Also would love to point out that a junior English breakfast was on the menu too which was perfect for our 10 year old. Well done to The Driftwood Cafe.....we will he back!"

make sure that the caffe closes quite early (3.00 o'clock on the day we were there) that is the reason why I gave them 4 stars. everything else deserves 5 stars.

Called in while out on a walk. Despite being very busy we found a table. Service very welcoming and friendly. Good menu. The only negative was the cakes being kept chilled we found a bit dry but would have no hesitation in coming back.

Great place, food was excellent, staff friendly and efficient . The property sits on the sea front overlooking the Bristol Channel towards Barry and is an ideal place to head to for ouch or a breakfast after a nice beach walk, dog friendly too !

A really great place to have good food. A real varied menu, very friendly staff and a great atmosphere. The cafe is right on the seafront. We went in after walking with our dog. Very dog friendly and OK if your boots aren't polished. Highly recommended.

The latte was disappointing, as it tasted like instant coffee mixed with milk reminiscent of what my grandmother used to make. The vegetarian sausage sandwich was fried and drenched in margarine, making it very greasy and difficult to eat. However, the location and building were very pleasant.

We stopped by to get 2 takeout cream teas, one traditional and one savory. The cafe was bustling but the service was efficient. Our food was served promptly and the scones were nice and warm. It's rare to come across a place that offers a savory cream tea option, so we were very pleased with our experience. Overall, we give it a big thumbs up.

I like to visit this cafe/coffee shop restaurant from time to time. It has a nice outside area and veranda where you can dine when the weather is nice. With a view overlooking blue Anchor Bay and the steam railway in the background, it is a delightful place to visit, especially in the warmer months. They offer a variety of dishes, from sandwiches to kids' burgers to fish and chips.

The George Inn

The George Inn

Brompton Regis, TA22 9NL, West Somerset, United Kingdom

"Yet again we needed to celebrate having resolved a long standing technical problem. The pub in Brompton Regis came up in discussion the evening before when our neighbour was around for a glass of wine. He said that before coming to our village he’d looked at houses in Brompton Regis. He left and we booked a table. Friday was a damp day but we were not deterred as we drove up into the Brendon Hills, usually distant views greet one but this day the clouds were dominant. However as we descended from Roborough Gate towards Wimbleball Lake we could turn off the wipers. By the time we crossed the bridge at the top of the lake a shaft of sun broke through and sparkled across the surface of the water whilst light wisps of mist kissed the shore line. Rounding the churchyard wall always raises our expectations for there is the George Inn. The bar door was hardly open before Tash, a beaming smile, greeted us with a price board for ‘COFFEE’. I said in my previous review that I wouldn’t mention coffee at the George again, sorry, but I must. The coffee machine had arrived the day before. Well done Tripadvisor the George! We had a wonderful starter of Baba Ganoush, new to the menu that day. It was exceptionally good with delicate flavour. Following on was chicken breast and pasta with tomato sauce, again great flavour though my wife found it a little too greasy. My Bengal curry was fantastic and a most generous serving. Our ‘Desert,’sic, was Chocolate Ganache with pistachio ice cream under crunched nuts. I had the steamed maple syrup pudding set in a delicious whisky sauce, a very delicate and light texture, just right to finish on after the curry! Of course we had our long awaited espressos from the new device, a delicious finale to our meal. Earlier in walkers had dropped in wanting a coffee. Now all on Exmoor should be heading to the George for their ‘hit’."
