"Whilst staying at Centre Parcs with the family we popped out for a meal on our own, we chose from the three course menu which was delightful I had potato and leek soup whilst hubby had haddock fish cakes with garnish, followed by salmon with all the trimmings (large portion) and roast turkey dinner again with all the usual extras! Both deserts were to die for, rhubarb creme brulee and apple crumble with custard. All for £13.95 per person before six! Drinks half the price of Centre parcs. Later that evening our family went for a meal who had rib eye steak and other deserts and came with the same opinion as ourselves. Decor very nice with attentive staff, will use again next Christmas!!! Added bonus two miles from the Parc!"

Upon entry it seems quite quirky with the decor which I really like. Drinks selection is very good and pub in a good location. Staff very professional/friendly. Would recommend.

Excellent choice on menu. Friendly attentive staff and delicious well cooked dishes. The restaurant has been fully refurbished to a very high standard with comfortable seating throughout.

A good carvery with a great choice of food. You can have as much as you like. There are pies etc aswell as the usual carvery meats and veg. A little pub inside which looks bigger from the outside so better to book. We were put on a smaller pub table which was ok for 2 of us.

Went for lunch on Good Friday. Staff were very friendly, efficient and extremely accommodating. I had the best tomato soup I've ever had and then risotto. The food was piping hot, the right amount of time between each course and very good vaue for money 2 courses for £10.95. Lovely surroundings, can't wait air to go again!

After a walk in Sherwood forest I needed a dog friendly pub for my food buff parents and myself to go to for lunch. The Dog and Duck certainly delivered. The interior decor is really quirky and cool with fun music (although I would perhaps recommend they turn it down just a smidge! . The food was delicious pub food I highly recommend the chorizo chutney and the staff were friendly.

This is the second visit to The Dog Duck after two years. We are staying in a log cabin with Forest Holidays Sherwood Forest. Our meal yesterday was superb, our favourite, steak and ale pie. Today I had the best fish and chips ever. My partner ate country sausages, he found the meal excellent. The wine and larger was reasonabally priced. Today, we found room for chocolate brownie in a caramel sauce, with fruit and icecream, gorgeous! You have to visit this pub if you are in the area, the food is outstanding. Staff and service are excellent too.

Eaten here a few times over the last few years and from a dining perspective, it's gone down hill. The bar has got a great atmosphere and the inside is lovely, however the speed and quality of service leaves a lot to be desired.Recently ate there and pretty much everything went wrong and e finally received the last mains 2 hrs after being seated. They were busy but come one...Food was ok/good but it was the rest of the experience that let it down!In fairness to them, I made my grievances known and it was reflected on the bill.A real shame as this was always a fav little spot, hidden away in the middle of nowhere, unfortunately I won't be going back.

"We had to send one dish back! Delicious food but had to deduct stars for the cutlery not being polished there were dishwasher marks left on all of them, and the special of the noodles was very sour. I must say to their credit they replaced the dish quickly and without fuss so I 've increased my rating to four stars. Our friend is used to Asian food and eats it on a regular basis and he said the noodles were definitely off. Other customers were questioning the flavour but the chef was saying that it was correct. We feel the flavour profile was not balanced. Maybe too much lime juice was added to the miso? The steaks and mixed grills however were perfect. The ribeye cut like a knife through butter. The meat was so tender. Even the grilled herb tomatoes were so ripe and delicious. The chips were near perfect crunchy crispy and fluffy on the inside. They soaked up the vinegar perfectly which cut through the oil of the chips. Altogether a marriage of barbecue flavours that go together perfectly. We had the local IPA and a cider which paired perfectly with the meals. The restaurant was busy with local regulars and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Every request we made was met with a courteous no problem reply. Service was impeccable. The desserts for those in our party who could manage them were also delicious. There was a Mars bar Cheesecake and a kinder bueno tart which was dense chocolate. Highly recommended if you still have room after your main course! (I didn 't!"
