Very rude staff behind the bar. Will never be visiting this place. Poor food not like it used to be.

The restaurant serves delicious pub food and offers excellent service that is worth making a reservation for. The friendly staff and delicious food make it a great option for dining out.

The Haddock, chips, and mushy peas were delicious, with nice thick chips. My friend enjoyed a prawn cocktail with large prawns, followed by a generous cheeseboard. The staff were efficient and not intrusive. The cozy atmosphere of the log fire on a cold day made it a perfect dining experience. Voir le carte

Went here on Saturday for dinner. The worst service and food I have encountered for a long time. The Creamed Mushroom starter tasted strange, a sour taste sent back! The main course was Seafood Tagliatelle inedible, defrosted cold prawns laid on top of hot pasta, also sent back! No atmosphere whatsoever. Absolutely dire!

Second time within the last month have visited for sunday lunch, both times very good standard of food. Four in our party, two had lamb, one beef and oner pork all of a good quality with proper yorkshire puddings and gravy in a jug so you can take what you need. Friendly attentive staff and well priced food. would recommend a visit.

Don't waste your time at D&C if you're looking for a decent Ploughman's Lunch. The half baguette was overcooked in the microwave, becoming dry and stale. The cheese was of poor quality, flavorless and lacking in taste. The pork pie was also disappointing, as there was a noticeable absence of pork. We had x 1 starter of belly pork bites which were really dry and burnt the crackling was also burnt, I am really surprised the chef thought it was ok to serve this. The brie starter was just about edible but laid on a salad that had a horrible sweet salad dressing on it, also the quality of the salad was poor. The mains were no better nowhere near as good as it used to be.

Got Saturday night reservation here, wish hadn’t bothered! Got a drink served on arriving order for food. arrived 7.15, food eventually served an hour later. I was starving ready to walk out to be honest. My husband had gammon steak which was edible, I ordered hunter’s chicken which was disgusting!!! On asking for the bill I made a point of telling the waiter how bad my meal had been, but seemed totally uninterested and although apologised more or less indicated there was’nt a lot he could do about it. We were only visiting the are and unlikely to return, but even if I lived in the area I would not return. Don’t waste your money………………

We visited here on a Tuesday evening for the first time and the welcome we received was so friendly and welcoming, we immediately felt at home. The staff go out of their way to make sure you are well looked after. The menu is simple but the quality of the food is fantastic and obviously home cooked and freshly prepared, it was beautiful and we enjoyed every mouthful. The night we visited was quiz night, which we joined in with and was great fun, with a really varied age range of people taking part the atmosphere was very friendly and warm, something very rare in a pub these days.
