the old school offers a romantic atmosphere. eating is excellent and to a high standard. I recommend this restaurant, it is worth visiting.

we had an excellent 3-course dinner in the old school. the food was very good and the prices acceptable. beautiful atmosphere in the old building and very good service.

eating here is some of the best in herford. the place is `old school` classy and the staff are friendly and polite. my only reservation is that it is quite expensive according to German restaurant standards.

Fantastic cuisine and sizeable portions too unless you are really hungry you will not need a starter and a main course. Great for celebrating a special occasion, quite expensive but outstanding value for money.

my family and I were there for dinner to test whether this is locally in question for a solemnity. the selection of the food was very small, for this already high price category. Unfortunately, we didn't believe that. the service didn't seem to be quite on the height this day. there were many apologies, and a coveted courtesy. we had quite long waiting times, I think we waited 45 minutes for the dessert.

then you will be convinced of this cliché at Die Alte Schule. The cook 'overtries ' to make original combinations and the plates that should be straightforward (like a risotto) are not done the way they should be done. Not that food is bad it...is just not surprisingly good, just like the terrace at the back of the restaurant which is badly designed, just like the plastic flowers, ... we think of this as just bad taste.

we meet regularly with colleagues to eat tasty. This time a colleague was looking for this restaurant from. ambiente very nice, small fine card with great compositions of different components. great appetizer, class main course and tasty ice cream round a successful evening off. the service was very good. I recommend the restaurant further - inexpensively will certainly be lifted but also in its menu fair.Uncause of the current map look at the website as changing.

We ate at this restaurant during a weeklong stay in Herford, visiting our daughter who lived there at the time. It was a birthday celebration for my wife and we walked to the restaurant, located just off the inner ring road in central Herford. Blessed...with a warm, sunny evening, we opted to sit outside; the restaurant was pretty dead on a Wednesday evening and I think there may only have been another three or four tables occupied during the evening. The Alte Schule is quiet pricey compared to most of the other restaurants located in Herford so not sure if that had anything to do with it. We had a glass of Prosecco each while we pondered the menu and then a bottle of Primitivo from Puglia t...
