"Went here for dinner with my wife. The service was way below par. When we ordered a bottle of wine and a bottle of water the server just put it on the table and walked away. No wine cooler, didn’t open or poor the wine and didn’t open or poor the water she just plonked it on the table. The ambiance was dire. There was 1 table there when we arrived and they left before our main meal came out and then there was 1 new table arriving as we were leaving. So during our meal we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. The was no background music or anything other than our own conversation the only thing we could hear was the football being played on the TV in the bar. The food was not nice at all. We both ordered the lamb and it was very tough. I ate about half of mine and my wife had even less of hers. We also ordered bread and butter for the table and that was the best part of the whole meal."

"Me and my hubby went to the cattle and cocktail for the first time tonight, and to say it was an amazing meal is a huge understatement. Not only was the steak cooked to perfection (perfectly pink), but the staff were absolutely fantastic. Welcoming, with friendly conversation and brilliant service. The decor was stunning, and the whole evening left us excited to return. Truly beautiful night. Thank you to the amazing service staff and chef. We will be back in a few weeks to celebrate our anniversary"

"Had a great meal at The Grumpy Mole on Friday evening. We hadn't booked but took a chance and just turned up. We asked to sit outside and found a lovely spot on the terrace under the shade of a welcome parasol. Our waitress was very efficient, friendly and polite. The food was served in a timely manner and everything felt relaxed and very welcoming. The two starters we enjoyed were the smoked salmon parcel and cheese bacon potato skins, both absolutely sublime. For mains we had the Cajun burger with fries, coleslaw and salad, and calves liver, bacon, onions with mash and vegetables. Both delicious. Everything cooked to our liking, so very happy tummies! Can't wait to return here for another great meal in a lovely setting. Had to add another review, as we went back for a great lunch on Saturday. It was a very rainy day but that was completely forgotten the moment we entered The Royal Oak. The waiting staff were absolutely brilliant, made us feel so welcome and valued. We were offered a very cosy table in The Alcove. We chose the lamb rump with Dauphinoise potatoes and vegetables, and the Steak and ale pie with new potatoes and vegetables. Absolutely delicious! This place has become a real gem and the staff appear so committed to giving you a really special experience. A big thanks to everyone at the Grumpy Mole Oxted!"

"Delicious burgers, the bandit, deep smokey south and 3 kids beef burgers with skinny fries. We also had mac and cheese, k wings with hot sauce, chicken bites, courgette fries and coleslaw. We also had really yummy vanilla and oreo milk shakes.. very good. My boys loved the arcade machines downstairs. The restaurant seemed very clean. Service was very attentive. We were the only table there but possibly because it was at on a sunny sunday at 3ish so not really lunch time or dinner time. ... nevertheless, we still enjoyed being at the restaurant. Good music, nice ambience. Will come again!"

"This was my first visit to the Gurkha kitchen. Needed a change from Cucina's. Absolutely lovely lunch. Staff are amazing. I hope they are appreciated. We didn't realise, but we had gone over our 1.5 hour allotted time slot, and the staff were very, very gracious. Lunch was beautiful. Prawns in coconut sauce, Red mullet, and a beautiful Dhal.... Added to this we were given prawn crackers, but not the white, cardboardey type. These were gorgeous. We also bread and a rice dish. All delish.... My friends had come up from London, and were really impressed. I cant believe that I have lived in Oxted for so long, and swerved this gem of a place. Prices very reasonable too. Well done Gurkha kitchen. Chef and waiting staff amazing....."
