Cromwell's Cafe - Carte

The tea room had everything you would expect, and the prices were very reasonable. The only downside was the ice cream milkshake, which was not the thick American style I was expecting, but it was still delicious. The food was delicious and came with a large side salad that I didn't end up eating.

In a narrow sidestrap at the central square, this cozy lunchroom is. Divided over the ground floor, and the first floor is enough places for a smaller group. With enthusiasm, you'll be received here. The one we ordered hightea is enough to perform a whole day. Good products, kindness and normal prizes make this opportunity a top-traction.

Four of us had a light lunch in this café on Saturday, lovely old building. Very pleasant waitress who was really helpful and we had fishcakes/fish and chips. I have tried all the top breakfast spots in Pontefract, and this one definitely takes the cake. The creamy mushrooms are absolutely delicious and it's clear that everything is freshly made. The food is cooked to perfection and the prices are reasonable. The staff are all very friendly. It may appeal more to an older crowd, but I highly recommend it.

Family lunch. All good portion sizes, beautifully presented. Good value meals. The ploughman’s lunch was a massive plate full of ham, salad, warm crusty bread, pickle, cheese, pork pie (warm! etc. The burgers were huge with lots of chips. The soup was homemade and piping hot. Staff very pleasant. Would recommend. A hidden gem down a narrow lane off the market place.

I went to this restaurant with friends for lunch and we were impressed by the variety of options available, including sandwiches, light snacks, and full meals. The food we ordered looked delicious and was well presented. The dessert selection was great and they also have a liquor license if you want to enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your meal. Lunch with a friend at Cromwells lovely attentive service and food was spot on. I noticed the staff were extremely kind, considerate and attentive to a gentleman guest with additional needs and that for me was a rare and special moment. They took time to check his order and explain particular issues such as the make up of a side salad.A truly super place and one that the staff should be proud of.It was our pleasure to eat with you and doubtless when I am back in the local area, I will return.

Travelled over from East Yorkshire for a day out somewhere different. Looking to stop for morning coffee we are used to not having to look far for any of the familiar coffee chain outlets. We were surprised and pleased that there were none in Pontefract just independent cafes. It was thanks to a lady who advised us of this place down the alleyway as I don’t think we would have found it otherwise. I would highly recommend it. Service was quick, pleasant and helpful staff,lovely coffee and something to suit everyone on the extensive menu. Will be back on our next visit.

We went in Cromwell’s for lunch after having a wonderful breakfast of bagel with cheese, bacon and egg there previously. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were not disappointed with the lunch my husband had homemade steak pie and mushy peas which was absolutely lovely so I was told. I had the cod which looked and tasted divine with new potatoes veg how I have described it sounds boring, wish I had taken a photo because my words don’t give it justice. All I can say is thank you again for a fantastic meal, we will not be going anywhere else for breakfast or lunch. Voir le carte
