Crickett's Inn - Carte

We visited The Cricketts for Sunday lunch today, the food was so tasty and plentiful. The service was amazing, lovely staff and the owners couldn't do enough for you. We will definitely be returning...thank you x

We popped into this beautiful place yesterday. Under new management. Staff and owners,very polite and helpful. Lovely and clean. The best steak we have had in years. Will definitely recommend it. huge stars from us. X

Went for Sunday lunch today . Not too busy when we arrived so service was quick and efficient. Limited menu for Sunday but had a the main meats and vegetarian dishes. I had the lamb which was excellent and others had beef which was the...best my wife had in years and the portion was massive. Reasonable price for a pub/restaurant.

We are staying miles away and saw this place on our way in. We thought it looked nice so decided to give it a try. It is really nicely decorated and has a lovely warm feel to it. The landlord and landlady and all...of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We had few drinks and decided to try the Sunday roast sharing platter, it looked fantastic and it was really tasty. We couldn't eat it all there was so much. I can't recommend this place highly enough I wish itcwas our local.

Wow! What a difference the new management have made. The atmosphere is back, the food is superb, the bar is awesome and the whole place feels so welcoming. If you haven't been in for some time you need to pay a visit, you will be...blown away by the effort the new team has put in. The quality of food coming out of the kitchen is of high standard, my wife and I most recently had a table for the Fish and Fizz evening and it was fabulous. If you are looking for a lovely country pub Restaurant to visit, I would highly recommend a trip to the Cricketts. We will definitely be returning. Voir le carte

We had high hopes when the Crickets was taken over but our second visit was dreadful. The service was so slow. It took almost hours for two courses, absolutely ridiculous. We ordered extra gravy which didn’t arrive; salad instead of vegetables which didn’t...happen and the apple crumble was mixed red berries!!!! We knew dogs were allowed before booking which was no problem. What is a problem is multiple dogs actually in the restaurant with the diners. Opposite had two dogs which constantly yapped to the point that diners were getting really annoyed but the staff did nothing, nor did the owners to quieten the dogs. We will not be returning.

The two stars are for the steak, which was cooked really well. Chips a bit flabby. Onion rings were lovely. However the vegetables were the weirdest I’d ever had salad had been cooked under the heat lamp (cooked cucumber anyone at first I thought...it was spinach (no) and the green beans in tomato sauce were warm but raw. I would have complained but no-one around to complain to or ask us how our meal was. It felt we were being ignored and there was only one other couple in the dining room! Only took our order after I very obviously asked to and then a second waitress swooped in. Had to steal cutlery and napkins from a neighbouring table even though the two waitresses saw we had none. Hope the owners have loads of cash because they wont be making any with the service we got ,booked for ten we were asked to pre order the meals all sorted turn up on the day the table we were promissed had been given to...another group then told chef had gone home and we had to order all meals again but not to worry the new chef was a finalist on masterchef we are then seated in the main area with round tables chucked together with whatever seats they could find the group was down to as were to sick to attend ordered starters and mains from a waitress who obviously had little experience and no communication skills at all sit there and sit there and sit there waiting for the starters eventual...
