"The Alte Mühle is known in Pforzheim and its surroundings as a secret tip for well-kept fish food. It is located on the road to the resort Dobel, drive over a small bridge, here the Eyach flows past fishing ponds with trout in all sizes. .The owners of the restaurant operate a large trout breeding. The inn itself was renovated about 20 years ago with all luxury, a large rotating mill wheel makes a cozy ambience. However, this is reflected in the prices and accordingly the guests are also here with somewhat thicker wallets. Mercedes and Porsche are on the door, and the other day was a Ferrari. For the wedding day, passed exam or with business partners you were already here, otherwise it is me to Schicky Micky (yes, this is also with us). From trout in various types of preparation, zander, charling and carp with various supplements, and not like fish, there are also two meat dishes, everything is served very competent and tastes extremely delicious. But you have to pay for it at 30 euros. You can also sit in a very noble ambience, overlooking the mill wheel or the forest. It is an absolutely recommended restaurant for fish lovers and for those who do not need one or the other euro. In the beautiful surroundings there are also cheaper yet good places. Of course they don't have the flair of the mill."

"Das erste Mal waren wir zu Ostern hier, im schönen Biergarten haben wir frische Spargeln mit Sauce Hollandaise und Schnitzel gegessen. Riesen Portion, gut gegarte Spargeln, sehr aromatische Kartoffeln, bestes Fleisch in knuspriger Panade. Auch die Spargelcremesuppe war sehr lecker. Der Salat knackig, frisch, mit einem sehr leckeren Dressing. Die handgeschäbten Spätzle waren noch etwas angeröstet, ein Traum! Hausgemachte Creme Brulée: fantastisch! Den Gartenbereich kann ich mir auch für kleinere Feier bis etwa 50 Personen sehr gut vorstellen. Wir waren dann im November im restaurant und haben Gänsebraten gegessen. Ebenfalls ein Traum. Das Fleisch so zart, dass es auf der Zunge zergeht, die Beilagen, der Salat und die Sauce ebenfalls perfekt zubereitet. Ich kann vom Essen hier nur schwärmen, ein besseres Essen hier in der Umgebung ist mir bisher nicht bekannt."

"Wir waren an einem Sonntag Spätnachmittag hier zum Essen. Schwer zu verstehen, dass nur ein Tisch belegt war, als wir ankamen.Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen und ebenso freundlich und schnell bedient.Die Karte ist nicht sehr reichhaltig, aber m.E. vollständig ausreichend, da sie die ganze Bandbreite vom Wurstsalat bis zum Hirschbraten umfasst. Es gibt eine eigene "Wanderkarte", die immer angeboten wird, sowie eine "Saisonkarte", die jeden Monat variiert.Als Vorspeise aßen drei von uns eine Kürbiscremesuppe mit Kernöl. Sie schmeckte ganz hervorragend und war so heiß, wie ich mir jede Suppe wünschen würde. Als Hauptspeise aßen unsere Freunde ein Hirschmadaillon und ein Putensteak und wir ein paniertes Schnitzel mit Meerrettichpanade und einen lauwarmen Schwabensalat mit Bratkartoffeln.Alle Gerichte waren sehr schön und einfallsreicht dekoriert.Geschmacklich waren wir ebenso alle sehr angetan, so wird es mit Sicherheit nicht unser letzter Besuch hier gewesen sein.Der Gastraum, in dem wir saßen, war sehr sauber und hell und freundlich.Preislich gab es auch nichts zu meckern.Im Sommer ist sicher auch die Terasse mit schönem Blick sehr einladend.Es scheint noch 2 oder 3 Nebenräume zu geben, die wir jedoch nicht besichtigten.Die Toilettenräume im Untergeschoss sind sehr sauber und gepflegt.Fazit: sehr empfehlenswert."

"I hate to leave bad reviews,,,but there is NEVER a reason to be rude and unfriendly to customers you have never met. We thought we would give this place a try. It is a long way out of the way-took us about 30 minutes longer than we thought to get there..and because of its location the parking is difficult, but we were open minded when we walked in the door. Walking into a warm restaurant out of the cold evening is always comforting, and it was the second best experience of the evening. Walking back out that door was the best part of the evening. . There were two other parties in the entire place, and the waitress was talking to her friends in one of the parties. So we waited to be seated. and we waited..and waited. Finally we seated ourselves by the window. At that point the waitress acknowledged our presence to tell us that table was reserved, and moved my wife and I to the middle of a large table in the middle of the restaurant. Then she abandoned us for another 10 minutes while she talked toher friends. We thought about leaving (and should have). Finally, I got up and walked over to her to ask for menus and drinks.To make a long story short it took over an hour and a half in the restaurant to get a very mediocre meal- and each interaction with the waitress was difficult. The table we initially chose was never taken. No one else came in the restaurant in the time we were there After another 30 minutes to get home, my wife and I agreed that this was one of the worst dining experiences we had ever had."
