"finally got the chance to visit today, and it's safe to say that we definitely are back. the interior design is as superlatiw as expected, and the staff was also very friendly. they offer a great selection of drinks the Gin menu and the craft beer menu were right on my street! I chose the hey good Cluckin’ pizza while my better half went for the speckburger. the pizza was absolutely phenomenal and I can not wait to try some of the other options. could not resist me a little chomp on my partner burger, and I must say I could have worshipped it! we are looking forward to our next visit. 10/10 would recommend."

"Walk through Hawthorn Dene with my wife and two dogs with the sole intention of a bite to eat and a drink or two. We placed ourselves outside as it was a beautiful day and I went inside to order. The owner and staff were good craic and we ordered two scampi and thick cut chips and mushy peas and salad for my better half. I also ordered fish fingers and petit poi’s for the dogs off the kids menu and explained that to the staff. The meal and service was top drawer and the dogs receive their fish fingers on a plastic plate. The meals were spot on as was the pub itself which is decorated to a high standard and we will definitely be back."

"Came for a twilight Spa on a Tuesday night. We were initially booked for March but due to lockdown we had postpone it. We had a 2 course meal in the ozone restaurant included in this. We were booked in for 6pm but arrived to the restaurant early which wasn't a problem. We got seated quickly and had our order taken fairly quickly too as it was extremely quiet in the restaurant. We had an option of either starter and main or main and dessert, we both went for the dessert option. Food arrived quickly and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. The portions for the mains were huge which is always a bonus!! I had the beef pad Thai followed by the cherry bakewell cheesecake. My mam for the chicken terriaki stir fry with rice and the sticky Toffee pudding. Although it was lovely, we would only come again if it was included in a spa day as we both thought the prices were extremely expensive if you were going for the meal alone."

"Lovely venue with beautiful menu. My partner I had drinks and a meal which were simply divine. The vegetarian options for myself were incredible. The halloumi flatbread was perfectly presented and tasted even better. It took mild convincing from the server for us to order desert too. A wonderful cheesecake and the most phenomenal lemon drizzle cake I’ve ever had in my life. Will happily return there should we ever go back to the area."

"Went to The Albion with my partner and his nana as a trip out for her birthday. When we arrived we were given a menu that looked like it had been scrunched into a ball and flattened out then stuck to a board with bluetac. The menu itself was hard to understand. It stated ‘chicken’ for £13.50 but didn’t state what it came with or what was on the chicken. It stated ‘dirty parmo’ but, again, didn’t state what this was. Basically the menu stated one item that will feature on the plate and you had to guess what the rest was unless you wanted to go through the full menu with the waitress. The menu featured approx. 7 meals but I settled for fish and chips. The meal arrived and it was white battered fish that showed black sections of the fish, which I didn’t understand but still attempted to eat it. After a few bites I gave up because it was chewy and tasteless. Soon after one of the 50000 flies zooming around landed on my plate so that added a little special topping to an already hideous dish. When the food was collected my partner kindly said that ‘I think we got a bad fish with this one’ not really expecting anything but just because there was a full fish left on the plate so it would have been awkward if nothing was said. The woman came back from the kitchen and said ‘we’ve had a few fishes go out tonight and they were all fine but we can offer you a free dessert’. This was strange as we were the first people in the restaurant that night (a Friday and they hadn’t been open the previous three days) but I appreciated the offer for the dessert. The dessert came and it was a slab of plain chocolate cake with a flavourless ice cream topped with another fly. When waiting for the bill, a woman asked the waitress for gammon and the woman said ‘yeah I’ll put you one in hun’ which infuriated me because I was given a menu of basically nothing and now they’re taking requests. Won’t be going back, I think the virus has affected this business which is sad but due to the environment I don’t think it’s ready to reopen for several reasons most of which has been stated above."
