"I have to say I was very surprised how bad my experience was with the Spice Merchant was. It started very badly with the food taking two hours to be delivered. This was after several calls over that period where we were told that the food was on its way and should be with us in five minutes. That was a bad start but the food was just as bad. The only saving grace were the starters of chicken lamb lollipops which were tasty. The main courses were all very disappointing, lacking spice and flavour. They were also swimming in oil. The breads were also flavourless. I don’t like to give reviews like this but in this case it is well deserved especially as it was extremely expensive. £150 for five people. For that kind of money it should have been allot better. Worst curry I have had I recent memory! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £30–40"

"We arrived promptly for our reservation only to be informed that there was no record of our booking. Despite showing the confirmation on my phone, the restaurant claimed there was no table available for us due to a 'technical glitch'. They did not show any concern for the situation and we ultimately had to leave and find another place to dine. Although we have dined at this restaurant in the past, we are unlikely to return as we were disappointed by their attitude and apparent lack of updating their online booking system. At the time of our booking, there were 8 tables available online, suggesting a discrepancy in their availability information."

"the first time in the bull, will not be the last! traditional, classic is what meets them when they look in and their first look at the beautiful menu. the selection of dressed and favs that they have not seen for years, makes them smile! they can sit in the bar area or in the restaurant, restaurant for us. Nice that we did it because the staff could not have been more attentive and pleasant. They couldn't do enough and they were safe on the ball. it took us so long to choose. every time a court came out of the kitchen, we changed our thoughts! the wine selection was good and had something for each wallet size. so the food we had, three courses for lunch please! beautiful sardines, grilled to perfection and the taste was fantastic. a seafood crepe burst with fresh fish and prawn. beef wellington followed. that was amazing, perfectly cooked and tasted from this world. a short break after it and then the gloomy rolled up forcibly. that was tortured, you just wanted everything on the show. made at home and soouo well. lemon pie and ape strudel and whisper when fresh looked chilled. what is not to love, and we loved every minute on bullen."

"We had a wonderful experience at the restaurant. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. The view of the Thames just outside the window was lovely. We opted for the tasting menu, which was delicious. However, I must admit that our tastes are more aligned with French and cosmopolitan cuisine, so we didn't fully appreciate all the flavor combinations. This is entirely due to our limited experience with Indian fine dining, and not a reflection on the restaurant's efforts—they executed everything perfectly! The lamb dish was exceptional, practically melting in the mouth. Overall, if you enjoy Indian cuisine and fine dining, you really can't go wrong here."

"Wonderful meal on a Saturday evening when we were staying in the area for the first time. A very welcoming atmosphere when we arrived: lots of family groups with children, all clearly enjoying their food. Service was very friendly and efficient. We shared an antipasto platter for a starter all good, and my only regret was that I hadn't ordered a plate of the arancini all to myself. For mains, we had various pasta and pizzas all very good (especially the spaghetti carbonara), and a cut above anything similar that we've had for a long time. For sweets, the tiramisu and affogato tia maria were delicious. Lovely meal, and lovely too to see an independent restaurant so busy and popular."
