"Ok I cannot complain about the coffee itself choice of espressos and served hot along with water perfect. But slow service few places to sit and then only cakes on offer. What happened to all the food options that made this place special. No melted cheese sandwiches for starters! his is what made Cairngorm stand out and a destination for coffee... now I may go if I need a fix and I am in the close vicinity optherwise I'll look elsewhere. Shame. As said in other reviews I do wonder if this is COVID enforced changes but almost every place I have been recently is severely lacking. We all understand the pressures but paying the same price for 50% of the service/product doesn't make anyone feel good."

I stumbled across this coffee shop on a visit. It had a great range of food and very good quality coffee. Would visit again.

Delicious food and coffee, lovely staff, quick service. Nice, minimal interior. Thank you! We had an avo toast end cinnamon bun to share.

Very nice place and very nice staff. The choco banana bread was amazing and the cinnamon roll too. The price is fine. We will come back for sure.

Always a great place to go for coffee/tea but their cheese toasties are to die for. Buttered sourdough bread, generously filled with cheddar cheese and sweet chilli jam. Yum!

While visiting Old own during the Fringe Festival, I wandered over to New Town to try Cairngorm Coffee. Definitely worth the walk! The coffee (flat white) was so good that I bought 2 lbs of coffee to take back to the States. My only regret is I didn't buy more!

Dropped in for a cappuccino and a quick bite ,great selection of coffees and breakfasts really good quality food ,no wonder its busy . Take the wait off your feet and enjoy the atmosphere ,ideally situated on the corner. I will certainly be back to sample the Toasted Banana Loaf stewed dark fruits which I did not have time to try sounds amazing .

Pity as it looks good from outside. Busy inside and was fine to share a table but due to the number of customers the service was slow. Coffee arrived finally but was in a tiny cup and luke warm and expensive. Cinnamon bun ok. Hope you don’t need the loo as the stairs are deadly and the one loo dark and pokey. Maybe taking the customers for granted.

Stinking attitude from staff member. Stinking teapot, dirty and broken, stinking table not seen a cloth all day. Smells like Cairngorm Coffee are riding on the type of success that doesn't need customers anymore. Absolute nonsense service, totally obnoxious staff member losing her cool cos I asked her something twice. Talking down to us like we were infants in the mighty Cairngorm Coffee Shop...get a grip! Over marketed tinsel show! Learn to wipe a table and wash your dishes!!

"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."
