"Though local we had never eaten at the Caban-Y-Pair, so thought it was about time we gave it a try. Unfortunately we will not be returning any time soon. We visited for lunch and ordered two meals and hot drinks. Drinks were nice and arrived quickly. My meal was ok, not great but ok. Unfortunately my wife’s meal wasn’t so straightforward. Firstly both our meals went to the wrong table. I noticed this kept happening with the majority of the orders whilst we were there. My wife had asked for no tomatoes on here toasty (luckily she isn’t allergic). When our meals eventually arrived via the table across the room. Her meal had tomatoes on it. We made the waitress aware and as it was her that took the order she remembered and returned it to the kitchen. After ~10 mins the meal reappeared. My wife could only stomach half the toasty though as all the kitchen had done was scrape some of the tomato off the toasty, it still contained a lot of tomato. As I mentioned my wife is not allergic to tomatoes luckily. The waitress never returned to check and appeared to avoid our table as she knew what the kitchen had done. My wife didn’t want to make any more of a fuss and was hungry. So we finished our drinks and paid. We did raise it with the other waitress who apologised but did not offer to take the toasty off the bill etc. I had noticed a sign on the window advertising for experienced staff. I think this probably goes some way to explaining our issues. The staff seemed inexperienced and lacked the awareness of their actions. Had my wife been allergic then the kitchen’s actioned could have been far more serious. Overall a very disappointing experience. Betws has numerous other places to eat. And we will be sticking with our regular places."

Visited on way back from camping and climbing snowdon. Beautiful presentation, lovely staff , cake was divine after expending so much energy over the weekend, would recommend highly, dog friendly Voir le carte

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely little cafe with lots of choice of food and drink. Barra Brith was yummy. We only had drinks and cake but the food on the adjoining tables looked splendid!

Great little cafe. Very friendly helpful staff. Dogs were welcome too. Milkshakes were highly recommended by the grandchildren I had coffee and poached eggs delicious and the cooked breakfast looked huuuuge

Stopped in after walking up to Lake Elsi. Husband and I had pot of tea and scone with jam and cream. All served on lovely bone china. Scone was delicious. Served by a lovely young lady. Loved the authentic decor too. Highly recommend. Voir le carte

Would highly recommend this cafe.The staff are fantastic and great service...was served by a lovely waitress. Ordered a breakfast and changed what i didn't want on it ..It was quality and fresh and cooked to perfection. There was very good portion size too ...Very good experience for first visit ...will definitely be going again... Thank you very much enjoyed it.

We visited early January for early lunch and were very impressed. We both ordered the breakfast and hot drinks. The breakfast items were all good quality, including what seemed to be home made chunky wholemeal bread toast. The americano coffee came with a small jug of hot milk and the food was served on hot plates. Small touches make a difference including provision of sanitary products in the toilets for customer's needs. We live locally and whenever we visit betws again we will return, thank you !
