"Wow wow.. we stumbled upon this diamond in the rough whilst on our way back from a hike up Pen y fam. We were starving with no reservation, walked in hoping they could serve us on a Saturday night. As i walked in, the first thing i noticed was the largest most awesome plate of dirty fries i have ever seen and instantly thought.. jesus.. what is this place?! The bar manager came over to us and realised we were weary travellers needing some good cold beer and lots of food.. after moving things around for a minute they managed to fit us in and I'm so thankful for that. The food was super delicious, home cooked and big portions. The atmosphere was so friendly, welcoming, and warm. The service was absolutely spot on, couldnt have asked for a better experience. I hope to be back one day for the live music and Kareoke night, by all accounts its not to be missed!"

"Had a steak last night which was good but my onion rings were missing and I had the tiniest mushroom grilled to death, asked the guy who brought our meals about the onion rings and he shrugged said out of stock and just walked off. Went to the bar to ask why I’d been charged for them if there aren’t any and again I got a shrug and was told I could have extra mushroom instead which I agreed to as by now the rest of the meal was getting cold. The guy brought me a bowl with raw mushroom slices in it! My partner went back to the bar with these, by the time I got cooked mushrooms I’d finished my meal and there was no way I was going to eat them for fear of them having been spat on or worse.!Staff take no pride and seem like just being there is a massive inconvenience to them. To be fair I have had some nice meals here but there’s always some issue or another, usually items missing from the meal. Come on guys put a bit of effort in, it’s not difficult I’m not expecting Michelin stars it’d just be nice to have a basic meal without having to go back to the bar for something every time!"

"Weve not been in here since just before lock down omg what a change and not for the better ,change of everything ,looks like only 1 original staff member there and she was more out the back and she should be front of house as shes a people person with a smile that welcomes you,but not this visit staff not friendly ordered coffee which went to another table, staff seemed disorganised and not working as a team took ages before they realised total shambles, sorry but wont be going back , poor selection of cakes used to be great but its lost its charm"

"Excellent Sunday lunch one of the best we've had, chicken and pork dinners, Lovely tasty and fresh. Lovely dessert- chocolate orange brownie, so nice. Wife had a floater coffee with tia Maria which came separate to put in as you like-perfect. Excellent friendly service and nice atmosphere, busy with a little bit of background music, perfect. Nice little walk afterwards and return to the pub for a finish off drink outside. Highly recommended. "Basic room for decent price of £45 for 2 adults. Wasn't told it was two single beds when booked a room for two, there was 3 various preused shower gel bottles available, there wasn't any fresh toiletries, and bin was half filled with rubbish upon arrival too.... but customer service was friendly n very helpful, and staff upon arrival were welcoming too. Beds were clean and comfy (woth quilts, not sheets) plus we was supplied with 4 clean soft towels and ample overnight storage which included quality wooden hangers. No smoking in room, but cute outside smoking area easily accessible (although the light sensor could do with a wipe so it can recognise movement before people need to use steps to get to seating). Need to be able to climb stairs to get to either of the two rooms, which wasn't told about first (though they wasn't informed I had physical disability or I'm sure they would of told me before taking booking) Didn't need to pay until morning after stay and it was a shame we didn't have time to have breakfast for only a fiver extra per person. Bar downstairs appeared to be clean and welcoming, although we was not there during opening hours to experience it for ourselves. Overall, a good n clean n safe value for money overnight stay, and will probably use again soon if allowed to put single beds together or be given an actual double bed"
