"elegant and modern restaurant on the ground floor of the wuppertal opera house. the service is impeccable and friendly, not too formal. the menu is seasonal and constantly changing, proven by the handwritten card (it does not seem to be a standard menu). we had a cannon salad and a beet soup. both were very good, but the rabbit pieces were a bit dry and the suppe could have been a bit more away from the beet. as a main course I had a venison carving that was excellent, including all the side tables and the sauce, while my man had the steak, that was a wee bit about the middle brand he asked. the dessert called millefeuilles' was actually a 3-foeuilles (i.e. 3 thin cookies,) that a few berries cream and a chocolate. the whole composition was somewhat disappointing. the quality of the ingredients that are combined on an imaginative way deserves a very good review, but we somehow missed the wow factor. to come with coffee and drinks at under 90 euro was nevertheless a very beautiful surprise!"

This is not my first time in Brasserie and for me is the best option in Wuppertal. If I can, I go once a week, when I'm in the city. The food is very well presented and served, the waiters are attentive and are awaiting...any details. I like the tartare but they changed the menu this week.

Nice restaurant next to the Operahouse; Open untill 24 at night. So you can go there after a performance.. The food is nice, good wines, really friendly and professional staff. When the weather is good, you also can eat outside on the terrace. Make a...reservation, otherwise it might be full. Full menue is about 55 euro per person.

I went here with colleagues for lunch and we were not disappointed. Services was speedy and attentive without being overbearing. The food came in one go nicely arranged as a platter of three, very convenient when here for a quick bite during lunch. A quick...peek onto the evening menu looked promising, will definitely come here again in the evening.

... and this is reflected in the attitude. they do not open up until 17:30 and no matter whether they have booked a table in advance, they give big groups before and wedge their table somewhere in the back between the dressing bow and the...toilet eating and wein are in order. our next visit to the opera is in the april and we will continue looking for a better option Voir le carte

This perhaps the most sophisticated restaurant in Wuppertal, quite different from the pub style or traditional ambiance that many other places have. No bratwurst here. After 3 visits I can say high quality is consistent. Limited but varied choices on the menu, with varying daily...dishes. Best and freshest ingredients. Ample parking round the back, walking distance from Schwebebahn stops.

this restaurant has everything it needs. styilsh, friendly staff, pretty good cooking. we had a very good fish and crab soup, rather good grilled garnel, etc. I only give two stars because I made the mistake to order a pâté de foie gras. what. I got, besides a large number of spinach leaves, two small pieces completely tasteless pâté that came from a discount supermarket, they could actually still see the brands of the plastic container in the pâté and for that I was charged 19 euro.

I dined here with friends before a performance of the Pina Bausch Dance Company in the State Opera House adjacent to the restaurant. There's a lovely photo of Piña hanging on the wall, of course. This is a tiny and very attractive restaurant which was...filled with attractive and well- heeled diners. No attitude though: The staff were charming . Very nice wine list and hand-written daily menu. The food was very good and not massive portions impossible to finish. The three of us who dined have widely varying food preferences and all were delighted. It's just a short walk from the schwebebahn which is worth the ride in itself. Voir le carte

this is the second time that I visited the brasserie and I was not disappointed. we came to a hunch, it was a nice evening and we wanted to have a few nice meals in the opposite. the restaurant was, as usual, quite empty. the people still don't know that it's open when the house isn't. they are open. we settled outside and had a starter of the icy melon soup with lobster bisque, a head of fried otopus and a roast beef. for the desert we went for chocolate instead of the cheese plate. the starter suppe was a manifestation. the combination was as brilliant as the court at first made strange sound. absolutely delicious. the main thing, especially the otopus were delightful and the desert formed...

I came from NYC to Wuppertal on a mission to have more Pina Bausch in my life, twice this year, in May and November. It so happened in May that the friendly, knowledgeable and attentive staff at Brasserie (adjacent to the Opera House) became my...basic introduction to Germany and German people. The smartly clean and crisp place became like a little home for me, and by now I've dined there about five times, before and after performances. The food is excellent, the dishes are perfectly complemented, just adventuresome enough, and lovingly prepared. I recommend it highly. I ended up having the first goose of my life for my Thanksgiving on the road, Deutsch-style (with red cabbage, big ol' dumpl...
