"Visiting Rioja and searching out the best restaurants. This was recommended on TripAdvisor and did not disappoint. The Patron was extremely knowledgeable and very proud of his food, his wines (fabulous cellar) and staff who were trained to the highest level. This is a restaurant of Michelin rosette standard with wonderfully inventive food and a wine list to die for. Leave yourself in his very capable hands and he will deliver you a super feast, nicely paced and full of surprises. The young sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and served us some delightful and very different wines. The pinnacle was an Asturian Ice Apple Wine (cider based) which was other worldly. The asparagus with a maize sauce, the salt cod mole and the magnificent baby lamb chops were to die for. Make sure you find this little gem in the back streets of Navarrete. 6 stars!"

"Ayer estuvimos mi mujer y yo por primera vez.....En primer lugar destacar el trato recibido y el servicio,en segundo lugar la decoración sencilla y muy original, con mucha luz con ese fondo con un gran ventanal viendo el jardín. Por último la comida,hay personas que tienen un Don en la cocina encontraras una de ellas, un simple tomate con cebolla,unas croquetas,una menestras de verduras que saben a verduras y un entrecot que quita el hipo muy bien presentado ...separado de los pimientos/patatas y alguna piparra y el gotxua de postre. Gracias por hacernos disfrutar"

"Had heard many good things about this eatery, in the heart of La Rioja's wine country, all of them understatements. The place was fully booked (on a nondescript Friday, so book ahead), but going for an early lunch by Spanish standards (1.30 pm) they kindly squeezed me in for a quick meal. Had a quick look at their menu and was impressed by the creativity of many of the proposed dishes, above expectations, but I wanted to have their famous chuletón (steak). I ordered a tomato salad to go with it. Well, let me say that didn't disappoint. I'm picky with meat, and have tried my share of high-quality meats in a number of places, and I'd place this one in my top-5 without a doubt. The presentation of the meat was interesting, with the fat partly cut and open outwards. This probably has to do with the outworldly result. Soft, juicy, with the right amount of aging and wood that makes it full of flavor. A sure winner. Before the meal, they served 3 very competently made amuse-bouches, among them one of the best croquetas I've ever had. I was surprised at the almost- reasonable price I paid for the steak (55 EUR), a steal if you compare it to the price of a decent steak in Asian or North American capitals. Not to be missed if you're in the area, and worth a couple of hours drive (yes it's that good) if you like high- quality meats. As said, don't forget to book ahead."
