Went there for business lunch. Got a quiet table. Nice and attentive staff. Very nice interior. Food quality very good. Of course typical swiss prices.

in the metropolis at the train station we are always well served and the menus are always very well cooked. a safer value in the city of st. gallen. business lunches can be terminated directly with access to the train. our partners appreciate this very much.

it would be easy to overlook this dining option one floor above the entrance to the Hotel Metropol. That would be a mistake. A friendly crew welcomes you here with Swiss comfort food. The bratwurst is indeed excellent. Get a window table and watch the...world go by on the Bahnhofplatz.

Can't say anything about the rooms because I didn't stay there, but the restaurant downstairs is very convenient for the train station (it's just opposite and they don't mind if you park your luggage under the table), and they serve excellent St Gallen bratwurst....Not at all expensive. N.B. Bratwurst is typical of St Gallen. They eat it all the time. It's usually sold from kiosks, but of course if you get it from a kiosk you can't sit down. You can have it with chips or bread. we were invited to the restaurant metropol in st. gallen, but did not find this in the ta. piece of art: officially the restaurant is called in metropol o’premier. but not that they think it is so written - no, at the house facade stands "restaurant metropol." understand one of this marketing concept ... but maybe this incident is typical: we found in the first floor (also "au premier") a restaurant that was opened after old veteran sitte. friendly reception, which takes off the coat and with table cloths exposed tables - if they reserve with a view of the busy railway station. many guests also seemed to be masters of us.Also traditionally the recommendation of the house: a gänseleberterrine...
