"I have always enjoyed dining at this pub, but my recent visit on a Sunday proved to be a game-changer. After being disappointed by several other local establishments that had already closed their kitchens, my friends and I found ourselves at the Basketmakers. To our delight, the kitchen was still open and serving delicious roasts. We eagerly sat down with our dog Molly, who was also welcomed, and were impressed by the attentive staff and the generous portions of food. The roast was accompanied by a flavorful gravy that was perfect for dipping, and the potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were outstanding. The friendly banter from the bar staff only added to the enjoyable experience. If you are in Brighton and craving a pub roast, look no further than the Basketmakers for a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!"

Had the West End Mussels Special with fries in a pancetta and cider sauce. Absolutely amazing. This is the place for great food when in Brighton!

Really lovely pub, very cute inside. The food was fantastic we had lamb shank roasts which were delicious. And the brownie was outrageously good!

Still one of the top pubs in Brighton. Traditional, good beer choice and good food. Busy, but then you'd expect that in one of the best pubs in Brighton. Opens at 1100 on Saturdays, so busy when super seagulls playing at home. Voir le carte

Delicious Monkfish Scampi! Admittedly Scampi and Monkfish are two different things, and Monkfish goujons would be more accurate, but fantastic all the same! Possibly the best chips I've ever eaten in a pub too. My only criticism is that the portions are a little small. Felt like a starter and I was still hungry afterwards. Will definitely be back. All other food looked delicious too.

We visited this pub with some trepidation after having seen some of the recent reviews particularly surrounding unfriendliness of staff and small portion sizes. How wrong can you be? The whole ambience of the pub was just great with quality ales, superb food with ample quantity (in fact I couldn’t finish mine so took a doggy bag home with me) and staff who quite honestly couldn’t have been better or more friendly. It’s difficult to understand how the experience we had contrasts with the reviews of others.
