It's a lovely pub in a nice secluded part of town, but the service can be very hit and miss. Bar staff should know who is next and not have to ask.

This traditional pub is absolutely delightful, with bright decor and a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. The real ale is excellent and the staff are very welcoming. A must-visit!

I used to drink here in the 70's and I played for their bar billiards team in the Sussex League. It always was a great pub and I look forward to visiting it again when I am in Brighton this summer.

I have always enjoyed dining at this pub, but my recent visit on a Sunday proved to be a game-changer. After being disappointed by several other local establishments that had already closed their kitchens, my friends and I found ourselves at the Basketmakers. To our delight, the kitchen was still open and serving delicious roasts. We eagerly sat down with our dog Molly, who was also welcomed, and were impressed by the attentive staff and the generous portions of food. The roast was accompanied by a flavorful gravy that was perfect for dipping, and the potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were outstanding.
