"Feeling peckish after arriving in the town I happened upon this little takeaway. It had seating out front which I thought would be handy on the warm morning of my visit. I ordered the 'French ' panini. That meant a filling of brie, ham and cranberry. It wasn 't panini bread, it was a grilled baguette. The baguette was a decent size. I had my reusable cup filled with tea bit of a self serve after the hot water 's been added (bit like Greggs). As I made my way outside I got a warning about seagulls.... I sat down and when my sandwich (double wrapped in paper bags) was placed on the table it didn 't take a minute for a feathered monster to swoop. Luckily I got there first. The sandwich was tasty and when I finished and balled up the wrappings on the table, said bird swooped and got away with paper. A chap from the shop went onto the road to retrieve the litter. Maybe a parasol or awning might be beneficial if the Council gave permission. It does put me off returning. And walking along the road I noticed other places with outdoor seating did not seem to have any bother with the birds of St Andrews. Anyhow, my baguette/panini cost £3.80 and tea was £1.30. There were some tempting traybake treats in the counter display, but I didn 't partake on this occasion."

"Had lunch there after visiting the aquarium with the family. It was very nice lunch. Our waitress was so nice. She was smiling all the time we were there. She made the lunch even more special. My daughter and my mom had the La Reine Pizza, my sister had the Nduja Calzone and this one is very spicy with a lot of jalapeños inside. I had the leggera gamberreti. That was quite nice to have half pizza half salad. Service was great. Food was also nice but the Nduja was too spicy. Will surely come back again when I return to Scotland"

"We had a reservation for seven people, made through The Fork. We accidentally showed up an hour early, but the owner was very gracious and showed us to our table. The food was very good—I’m a tough critic because I eat Indian food at least once a week—with the lamb korma, saag paneer, chicken tikka masala and the naans standing out. We didn’t try any deserts as the portions were generous and we were all full at the end of the meal. A special note about the service—attentive, helpful and positive. The owner ran out on the street after one of us accidentally left our scarf by the table. We’ll be back soon!"

"This was my first time visiting a Pret chain restaurant, and unfortunately, it will also be my last. The lack of organization was evident from the moment I arrived, with no clear indication of where the queue was located. Despite waiting patiently in front of the till, I was completely ignored by the staff, who failed to acknowledge my presence or guide me to the correct spot. After some time, it became apparent that I was standing in the wrong place along with other customers. When we were finally directed to the correct side, those who arrived after me were served before me, even though I had been waiting longer. To add insult to injury, another customer who arrived later than me was immediately served without any acknowledgment of my prior presence. As a barista myself with a background in hospitality, I found this behavior to be extremely rude and lacking in basic courtesy. Not receiving even a simple apology only served to further disappoint me. It is clear that common decency is lacking in these big chain establishments. I have decided to take my patronage elsewhere, opting to support independent coffee shops or those with a genuine sense of hospitality."

"We came here for dinner last night and wished we hadn’t to be honest. We ordered a cheeseburger, bacon cheeseburger, hot dog, two fries and an onion rings. We had two vanilla shakes and a glass of wine. It came to £40 which is expensive but we went with it. However when it arrived it was the worst burgers I’ve ever had. I actually feel offended calling them burgers. They were the thinnest, most pathetic, tasteless bits of brown rubber. The hot dog (although made wrong with a big squirt of Alioli up the middle was awful too. Thankfully they replaced that for my wee boy. Everything was fried within an inch of its life and served in a bit of tinfoil. The staff although helpful clearly aren’t cooks and just young boys and girls clearly being shown how to shove some chips in a fryer and a thin burger on a hot plate. Gutted as it gets such good reviews and we left a decent pub/restaurant to go here. Wine was like vinegar but milkshakes probably the best we have tasted. Won’t be back ever"
