This restaurant is located in the old part of a wonderful town, with houses that were built 500 – 600 year ago. The place itself had a very friendly staff that kept refilling our drinks. Along with good food I had a great evening

Visited this restaurant wile on a a business trip to Germany the food was very good and the staff went out of their way to look after us. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful area of the town which is stunning. I would definitely visit here again. Voir le carte

Had dinner here while spending a long weekend with friends in Heidelberg and found that everything was excellent: the food (both the taste and its presentation), the wine, the acoustics, the village of Ladenburg itself. It's a restaurant that I would definitely recommend.

The restaurant is situated in the centre of Ladenburg an old Roman Town of 2000 years.It is definitely not your run of the mill German restaurant. Although I didn't much care for the starter, the main course (Pork Iberica) was the best pork I have ever eaten. They have a good beer selection and an expertly chosen wine list. What else do you want?

This was easily the best (and also most expensive) meal we ever had! Everything was just so divinely tasty and presented with great imagination. Service was also perfect, very attentive and joyful. Yes, you will have to wait a bit for the food but this is no fast food place and for us, the wait was well worth it. We'd love to come back some other day when we are in the region. Voir le carte

I came across Backmulde after checking Michelin Guide, where I noticed this restaurant was rated as "Bib Gourmand". As I was staying two days in the city, I booked a table there. I had a three-course menu: Salmon Tartar, Loup de Mer with vegetables and a Marillenknödel with Pistachio sauce. All of them were nicely prepared and presented. The service was very professional and attentive.

I went here on a Sunday night with a party of 4 - MIL's birthday. The host was excellent - extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Some reviewers have said he is too friendly - he is definitely jovial & outgoing, and genuinely enjoys a chat, but he was not intrusive at all. If you want discrete service that you hardly notice, then fair enough this is not it - but I prefer it like this. The food was absolutely outstanding. The chef plans and executes complex dishes that taste amazing but aren't overly fussy - just beautiful flavour combinations that melt together in your mouth. On the face of it, ``refined German cuisine'', might seem a contradiction; but in this case I think the description is apt. The menu on arrival bore no resemblance to the one online, but we were cheerfully guided through a translation of the new menu. The waiter/owner also owned the wine shop over the road and gave expert advice on wines since again the online wein karte is all wrong. On his advise we chose and excellent Alsatian gerwürtztraminer and a pinot. The former was absolutely superb, and I had some mixed feelings about the latter, which was a wee bit young.
