"We ate in the Ardmore Restaurant on the 29th July. It was excellent. In every way. The setting is stunning with grounds always maintained to an exceptional standard. Inside the character of the place meets you in the foyer and you cannot help be impressed on every turn. We enjoyed a pre dinner drink in the bar and as we relaxed we were given time to study the menu and make our choices for our meal. After a few minutes we were escorted to our table in the conservatory restaurant. The view over the ponds, water wheel and the extensive rolling lawns just added to the feeling of comfort and calmness which is so often lost when dining out. The excellent pianist played a wide range of tunes but did so at a volume which added to the place rather than intrude in the experience. When the food came it was well presented and the tastes were just amazing. All three courses were perfect. Some comments in other reviews state the price is high. The Beech Hill experience is special and the Ardmore Restaurant just adds to this. Well worth the wee but extra you pay. The freshness and quality of the ingredients is evident and prepared to maximum effect by an excellent chef and full kitchen team. The service was excellent and the staff are very attentive. You get a real feeling that you matter to them. They all are happy you have chosen their restaurant to dine in and they all want you to come back again. Well done to all."

The views to the garden are lovely here so while waiting for your order it is pleasant. The food is very nicely prepared and delicious. This is a formal dining experience with a comfortable informal feeling. Very relaxed and enjoyable.

We did not stay here, but had dinner on the recommendation of a friend who is from Derry. She was not wrong great food, friendly, efficient service and a beautiful location. Previous diners include several Presidents of the USA ! The next time we are in Derry we will stay here as well as eat here as the location is so wonderful.

Staff are lovely but service is slow. Starters were excellent but mains ranged from acceptable to poor. Chips were hard and undercooked, very lazy salad handful of rocket salad from a bag no dressing or any other garnish. Small and over cooked burger. Considering the price and the hotel 4 star rating I’m not sure the Beechill Gastro pub is worth a second visit. Overall an expensive and disappointing night.

We are locals to the Beechill Hotel. In recent months, following the change of ownership, the hotel and cuisine has generally gone down hill. Service in the bar areas is practically non-existent, with the food in the bistro bar being anything from 'just ok ' to awful. It is such a shame. Many locals have now decided to give the Beechill a miss over recent months. Let 's hope the management can turn things out in respect of general service and food quality.

We stayed at the hotel for three nights. Wonderful. We ate at the restaurant that was supposed to be “ cuisine “. It turned out to be pub style both upstairs and in the downstairs “ pub”. Exact same menu. Burgers fish and chips. Nothing more and poor quality and flavors. Disappointed to say the least. Tried a second time and nothing to order any better a second night so the menu doesn’t change. Ok for a quick plain meal but defiantly no where near fine dining.

My wife and I attended my works dinner dance on Saturday 8th December. The event was held in a permanent marquee adjacent to the main building but don’t let the idea of a marquee put you off as this place is fully heated has its own bar and toilets and I’d beautifully decorated to a very high standard and to be honest once inside you would never know you were inside a marquee. The food was excellent and service was really efficient I think I counted about 140 people all seated at the same time. This is the second year in succession my company has used this venue and I hope they continue to do so for years to come. I have no complaints what so ever and would highly recommend this venue.

We were 13 to Dinner on Friday night, an evening out with friends which we’ve had at the BeechHill previous years. No one took charge of our group on arrival with menus. There was no set menu and the menus were just photocopies, We like to sit in the drawing room , order our meals then go into the restaurant when it’s ready but on Friday we went into the restaurant and it took a long time to take the orders. Food in general was just ok. The turkey was dry and the Christmas pudding cold. We had to ask for extra gravy and no cranberry sauce until requested. At no point did any staff ask us if our meal was ok. The candles on the table decorations were lit at the end of the meal. There was no to...

Start with the positives. The food was fantastic- innovative and delicious. Hotel itself is beautiful as are adjacent gardens. Now for our issues. From ordering to service of food we waited just short of an hour. Not acceptable when we we pretty much the only diners in the restaurant. There was just one (maybe I did see a second briefly) member of staff on who, through no fault of her own, could not cope. Our main gripe was that what we were served was not what was stated on the menu. Vegetables were missing from some dishes and replaced with others without us being informed. We did challenge this at the time but didn't really get an answer as to why it happened. Maybe they were between menu...
