"I went for Sunday lunch at this restaurant and was extremely impressed. The food was delicious and the service was fast and attentive. There were plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options available. I will definitely be returning in the future. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, and is dog-friendly in the bar area. The menu had a fantastic selection for vegetarians and those with gluten allergies. The sticky toffee pudding was particularly outstanding. I would rate the service and location both a 5 out of 5."

"we went for family meal which was prebooked as Christmas presents and birthdays and we expected a main meal , two or three courses to be covered by the vouchers BUT instead they took the value of the food we choose against the value and then adjusted it. All fair EXCEPT they had put the price up on the meals since the vouchers were issued so we apparently underpaid and they were really grumpy about our suggestion that the vouchers should be honoured for their value in terms of 2/3 courses. There was some adjustment at the time but subsequently we found out we had been short changed We only really go the bottom of this AFTER we had left the premises. My starter was excellent but one of the puddings was not as claimed on the menu but once again they disputed this. The carvery was okay and filling We got a refund on the pudding after pushing this and felt they had tried it on. The bar prices were excessive"

"We have enjoyed dining at this restaurant before, but yesterday we decided to try the Beef Roast. The beef itself was delicious, but the roast potatoes appeared to be frozen and the portion of cauliflower cheese was minimal. The stuffing ball was hard and dry. The Coke tasted strange, possibly due to the drink lines being cleaned. After drinking it, I felt bloated and have been experiencing abdominal discomfort and an upset stomach since."

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."
