"We were eating today at our last night of a short holiday at the “Altes Zollhaus” restaurant after we felt very comfortable and satisfied there in the past. The Wolfsbarsch was prepared without lactose as desired and the bovine fillet medium well. On demand for a 45-minute waiting period, we were almost alone in the restaurant for how long the food still needs, we received the statement that the waiting period is at the cooking time of the beef fillet ????? . Instead of an apology for the long waiting period, the Lord held it behind the Thresen boss? not even necessary to say goodbye when leaving the restaurant. We were disproportionately disappointed and will in future prefer to visit other restaurants where we feel we are welcome as guests."

‘Birth-day dinner’ on 18.10.. Reservation in time from home. Conclusion: “taken surprise” as expected. Pleasant ambience, an expertly-competent and kind and attentive service and an outstandingly good food “offer from the table”. That's right. At the next Sylt visit definitely again....

Last time we were in the old customs house over ten years ago. This time, at the end of October/beginning of November we were allowed to sit outside (without reservation). You can really feel comfortable at the fresh temperatures there, despite radiators. We were compensated for by great food and good service. We will be happy to return, reserve but before!

We have been more often in the Old Zollhaus and are always thrilled. The service is incredibly nice, beautiful Christmas decoration invites you to stay and feel good. The food was excellent again. After the tasty bread with a beard hint, we had an excellent Vitello Tonnato and Burrata as well as a Bouillabaisse and giant cloves Asia Style . We like to come back.

In this charming restaurant we found not only excellent food, but also a warm atmosphere that perfectly matched our family evening. The staff welcomed us with open arms and made our visit an unforgettable experience. The chefs showed themselves extremely attentive by preparing special dishes for our little darlings, which they fed with enthusiasm. The quality of the dishes was first-class and the presentation was simply stunning. Every bite was a taste explosion that spoiled our palate. In short, an evening full of pleasure and hospitality. We can recommend this restaurant in full and look forward to our next visit!

the young service team here is super nice and unobtrusively flott at work.We sat to the second evening layer comfortably outside in the winter garden. As an appetizer we had the yellow fin tuna tartar and the customs house blattsalat. then followed pappardelle with gorgonzola and the lammed Teriyake style. we had hazelnut porfait with blueberries and cream brûlée. what should I say? eating was the awesome! great kitchen performance, as was worked here with the textures and aromen. the lamb wonderfully tender, very fresh products, a yummie salad dressing, the hazelnut charfait totally flavored. I would never have been empty! We come back from this, you don't believe it!

"...and I must confess openly that I can't determine what it was. But in turn. My wife and I were back on Sylt, as always with our long-term landlord in Rantum. And usually it doesn't take us to Westerland during our days. There is definitely too much hustle and bustle. Since the beginning of the Corona Epidemie we reserve all dinners from home. This avoids stress during the holidays. For Sunday, my wife had the right to make a proposal or to make a reservation, and she had reserved us a table in the bistro of the old Westerländer Hotel Stad Hamburg. On the one hand, she wanted to return there once, on the other hand, Sylt also noted the effects of pandemic and lack of personnel. When a lot of restaurants were opened during the full 7 days in the high season, they must now limit these times to keep their staff. So you have to look around on a Sunday night where you want to eat, and if you get a table there. We got our table in one of the most prestigious hotels in Westerland, but also the island as a whole. The house looks back on a long history, the homepage clears up. The location at the town hall, two streets away from the always quiet Friedrichstraße, guarantees a little more rest even on the narrow Bistro terrace in front of the house. There are two restaurants in the hotel, the Hardy's, whose entrance is on the right side of the house. The Hardy's offers an upscale kitchen in menu format. Offer and prices can be found on the homepage. If you turn to the left side of the house, you will find the somewhat hidden entrance to the bistro. A discreet note can be found on the house wall to the street. The bistro should be the somewhat casual alternative to the fine dining offer. As always we had ordered a dinner table in the second tour, open table offers the possibility of early evening booking at 17:45 and just one for 19:45. Shortly before we arrived by bike from Rantum and entered the guest room. The interior was a typical bistro ambience, relatively tightly placed tables, quite quietly, at our table at the entrance especially, as well as a clear noise level from all tables. On the table resources saving the card as a table set. There's a day card for this. There again 6 dishes in addition to the offer of the fixed card or set. A wine card is brought to the table and reveals an acceptable but by no means creative, or elevated selection of wines. The wine selection wanted to meet my wife, and a green Veltliner from the winery Loimer from the Kamptal (JG 2021) came out, with a factor of 3.5 still acceptable prices. A bottle of water with 9.50 EUR unacceptably high priced! Many of the guests chose the day menu that was offered for very cheap 40 EUR on our visit evening. If you set up a three-course menu from the map, it will definitely be a higher price. The service served with the drinks a small greeting of the kitchen. A really tasty freshly warm bread was that. Reminded a bit of a burger. There was a yogurt-mayonnaise cream with small vegetable cubes. For a bistro a pleasant amuse gueule. For us both the soup from the daily menu. Carrot soup with roasted peanuts (EUR 9,50) offered the kitchen on our dinner in the menu. However, there were no many alternatives to this choice, the card offered a Holstein potato soup with the classics, as well as a mushroom soup with the specials, possibly you can still put the salad offer at the appetizers, that was it then. Something very thin for a house like the Hotel Stadt Hamburg, in my opinion. Our soup choice was okay, well prepared with the obligatory kick from ginger, but otherwise without any surprise. Ordinary craftsmanship could be said. To the main foods, here we went separate ways. My wife ordered swollen cauliflowers with hummus, pesto and pimientos (EUR 20,50). She was after a vegetarian main court. Olfactorisch had also played a role on the plate. I didn't try, but my wife was happy with the court, okay to good. My main food was offered on the daily menu. House-laid brathe rings were announced there and I had ordered that. Heringes are far too rare on the maps of restaurants, also and particularly regrettable here directly on the coast and on the island. So I order them if I can get the green or inlaid in a restaurant. What was presented on the plate was joyful. It actually didn't seem to get out of a bucket. There are manufacturers where you can buy inlaid herings without any doubt. But in a restaurant I expect craftsmen that seemed to lie on my plate. And they did well. I was not unhappy about my main dish together with the roast potatoes. At Dessert we agreed again, it could only be an offer from the daily ticket. Lemon tart with berries and estragon ice (EUR 10,50) sounded irresistible for both of us. It couldn't convince you. The fruits were marinated, a bit like a compote. Very good the Estragon ice. The tart in itself could not like that, the marrow pastry was already completely matted and offered no crunch any more, and so the whole piece got the consistency of a pudding. Too bad, because the acid-sweet game was well done. The service was carried out essentially by three young men and they did their job very professional. They were all three from the subject and satisfied all guests with good training and professional friendliness. If something has been missing, then a little more attention in dealing with us. Formula didn't miss anything, but it wasn't really turned. So I can come to the conclusion and try to submerge my introductory sentence. I've experienced really worse restaurant, or bistro services. Formulal was okay to good except for some small weaknesses. But still the spark didn't jump over with me, as with my wife. This is a very personal assessment, but my conclusion is the following. I used to be there, but I don't have to return again. I then have very many culinary points on the island, or on the south, where I feel much more comfortable. But I don't want to take it from a visit, it comes to my own assessment whether and when you spend an evening there."

"we were on sylt in October and traveled with the train. After we had done some things in our apartment, we wanted to go to the beach and look where we could sit down later for dinner. we have bumped on this restaurant and after checking the prices in the upper area, I went in to make a reservation. they told me that only one table was free, which I understood, because the restaurant looked very nice and was already full. So I said okay and we came back at 8:00. don't get her last table! this table stands next to the bar and on the main street to the kitchen. people sitting on the bar sit a little higher than they, but with the back to their table. also the waiters come at each order (drinks, eating, billing, cleaning the whistle etc). by her table. next to our table stood another small table with a wine cooler on it. first I thought it was for us if we were to order champagne or something. but no, it was like this table was a leap. the food was really good, we had a three-course meat dish and it cost only 30 €. the waiters were fast, but not too attentive. seemingly they took care of those who were lobster and so ate. ;) so I think this restaurant is really nice, but not on this table. that keeps me from giving two stars. as I said, the prices are at the upper end. a small white beer costs 3,80 €; a water-mixed apple juice costs 5,80 €; a small pilsner beer 3,60 €. reserve if you want to go, it is always fully booked. parking is only 3-5 places, as far as I remember. park them on the road or run better there. there are also other comparable restaurants in the same street, taste them also."

"appointment again by phone for 18:00. Easy, friendly. Exterior area almost empty this time. But there were also ceilings on the chairs (16 degrees). The parking situation is always good here. Table 7 after our name was found in the reservation book. Table 7 is unfortunately not exactly a premium place, directly at a passage and the only one with chairs without armrests. The seat height did not harmonize at all with my broken knees and created pain for the duration. Moreover, it was so dark that some photos are not worthy of the publication. cute mini grinders 2 glasses Taittinger brut white for introduction (as last year 12,50) came in Taittinger-Gläsern, well beaten. No amuse gueule. I ordered 0.2 l for 9 euros (0.1 there is not here) of an apulian primitivo. The choice of non-alcoholic beverages was similar to that of Samoa. So if I had to take another alcohol-free beer, which was then reluctant. My wife ordered a glass from the Hausriesling by artists (8,00). The extremely large-grown beverage skeleton brought him in a carafe that was well cooled. Since my wife wanted him to be the main court, he took him back to the cooling. As appetizers we took field salad (9.50) and een lütten salad (8,50). The field salad was again quite neat with its potato vinaigrette, good intensive bacon and tomato cubes to be sorted out. My salad wasn't so sweet (small) and wasn't really good torn. In the very deep plates cutting is not quite easy. As main courts my wife again took the Braaden Aant (fried duck) for 23,50 and I Filet vun freelopen Schap (Filet von Freilandschaf) for 26 euros. After my wife's white wine came, he was poured into her red wine glass on the table. The duck was not as tender as in the previous year and thus only dissolved involuntarily from the bones. The beard was quite bite-resistant, sauce and potato clot were good. The red cabbage was significantly better than Samoa, but not perfect. Brodene Aant My three sheep fillets were beautiful pink with good roasted stars. They were laid over cross on Mediterranean vegetables with a very tasty but obviously thickened sauce. The added potato gratin was excellent. Filet vun freelopen Schap We do not need a dessert, because in the house there is still a beacon (blade pastry with marzipan and sugar casting) and well-cooled champagne waiting. In the case of wireless chip card readers, there were connection problems so that several calls were necessary. Nevertheless, after record time of 1/4 hours we left the restaurant. Actually, we wanted to book a table opposite Ivo Co, but the restaurant was gone. As I later read on the Internet, this has become the Easy-Restaurant in List, which should open today. This naming does not build up trust, but you must try it naturally. After kitchen trip the 3 (if it comes back)"
