"Last summer I had a lovely dinner outside with a good view over the opera square. I was served by a lovely asian girl. She spoke perfect french to me and even tried to teach me some german words and gave me recommendation what to...do in Dresden, I was really impressed. I'm used to eating alone on business trips, so it was refreshing. So I was eager to return this summer. Well, things were different. The view and the food was still great but the waitress this time was not that friendly. It felt like I bothered her with my order. She was really stressed out. Sure, there were other guests but I didn't feel welcome. Her english was also improvable. Generally speaking, it's a really nice restaurant in a very central place, I would totally recommend. Just cross your fingers that you get a different waitress."

Good dinner with a broad selection of wines. It was a nice break from the meat heavy restaurants that are all in the area.

we loved this place and have been here for years, but our last visit has destroyed us. eating was kind of tasteless, the fish wasn't.

Very near the Zwinger, Opera and Residence. Casual dining, good service and good food! Indoor and outdoor seating. Lovely garden area.

We had a lovely evening. Did not have a reservation but seated immediately. Staff could not have been nicer or more professional. Meal was outstanding and excellent value.

I eat here regularly, alone and with groups of clients, the food is good, it is not cheap. Today I left after 20 minutes being ignored and told off asking for a menu after 15 minutes of enjoying the view. Maybe it is just the...one waitress but I will not spend 40€ for lunch if the waitress is rude.

The manager is very unfriendly and rude. I asked the waitress were the toilet is and used it. When I came back form it the manager asked me why I did not ask to use the toilet. I told him that I did ask but...he did not believe me. He insisted that I payed 50 cents. This is not the way you want to be treated. We left to eat some were else.

We shared 4 different dishes two were mediocre and two were terrible. Fish soup was too fishy/salty and the braised meat was so stringy and tough that we gave up and left most of it. The service was terrible ridiculously slow even though the place was nearly...empty and the wait staff were really rude. And to top it off it was expensive $85 for the worst dining experience of the trip.

"I stayed at the hotel in which this restaurant is situated, it is on the 5th floor, and I passed it a couple of times but it was always empty. One reason, I think, is that the menu is rather obscure, with slashes between the dish description as inscallop/saffron/guava/back puddingA little off- putting, I felt. However, as a lone diner, I was getting pretty fed up of waiting for bad food each evening, although in a beautiful setting, Dresden's main square and its surrounds. So on my last night I treated myself and got a table on the roof terrace. The waitress was very helpful and friendly, and produced a good selection of bread. It's clear there are 5 courses, an appetiser, a hot starter, a soup course, a main and dessert. I didn't want the soup. This wasn't a problem. To start, I had quail's egg/chick/gorgonzola/rocket, but it was so much more than that! It had a delicious fried bread cube, a gorgonzola sorbet, and crumbled herbs to garnish. It was, superb. But the description is selling itself short! The hot starter was also good, scallops in a saffron sauce, with a black pudding jelly. The "guava" ends up on the dish as a smear, nothing more. My main was beef/capers/sour cherries/ smoked aubergine, but again, more- a delicious sauce, and perfect mash- a small amount, but perfect....There are 3 dessert options, I enjoyed a nougat with gold leaf. In all, the food was beautifully presented, and the best food in Dresden so far, on a par, that is, with Kallemeiers where you have to book a table. This place deserves the same popularity but is selling itself short with the odd menu descriptions. It scares people off, like myself. I urge you to go and try for yourself. There's a great evening to be had, in a stunning setting."
