"In 2015, I had written a post to Don Pepe, shortly after the opening, when there were still some start-up difficulties that have been resolved for a long time. Many times I have visited this restaurant in the past four years and it is now really time to finally get my overall very positive experiences on paper. Anyone who likes department stores will like to eat in this ambience, because typical Spanish it is certainly not. The restaurant in a late Gothic civic house (1519/1520 is very central to the Kath. Church at the Neustadtmarktplatz. The guest expects a healthy ambience in mostly black and white. The exposed high wooden beams are striking in black, which lead from the floor to the ceiling on the first floor. The restaurant has two levels, in the ground floor there is the counter, a small open space on the left (also suitable for smaller groups and several table groups on the right side. A staircase in the middle of the room leads to the open 1st floor, in which the tables are grouped as in a gallery along a railing. Thanks for several favors and help, a friend here invited me to lunch. We were kindly received and led to our reserved table. The menus and tapas were quickly served, as well as the immediately ordered alcohol-free wheat (3.60 € from the local brewery came well tempered on our table. The service is very friendly, well-launted and works quickly, but not always error-free (no trained professionals. Some misunderstandings are probably due to inadequate German skills. Against or for the first hunger is served here as a greeting from the kitchen Pan con Ali-Oli, a homemade garlic canonnaise with fresh, crispy ciabatta or baguette discs. This aioli is so light, so creamy, with the exactly right amount of garlic, easy to kneel! As an appetizer, we shared a portion of Pimientos Padron (4,80 €), the small Bratpaprikaschotes, originally from the Galician village of Padrón, with coarse Fleur de Sal, mild and fruity, without a sharp pepper, a very good start. My companion had already pre-ordered a Paella Mixto with meat and fish for himself at a table reservation. However, there are only 2 persons (28 €. You don't do that, the rest would provide for two more food at home. We enjoyed the mixed side salad served in front of the main dish with iceberg, Lolo Rosso, a cocktail tomato and a thick cucumber slice. The salad thoroughly mixed with a well-chopped honey mustard dressing. Rucola, herb, but not too bitter, is insulated with a dark balsamico that harmonized well with the balsamico. And then the Paella pan came: with heart and mussels, a few in shells and also without, two whole gambas in the shell and several smaller without, chicken breast fillet, Calamares rings and many pieces from Calamares-Tuben, as vegetable peas and paprika strips, nicely crunchy. The rice is even, but not too soft, but nice grainy. Meat or fish are beautifully delicate and the whole fragrances pleasantly for spices and the aromas of various ingredients. My companion is very fond of me personally the rice was too salty. For me there were Calamares Plancha with mixed salad and potato fruits (14,90 €). The plate looked good, a pleasant garlic fragrance rose into my nose. In both tubes, the tip end was a little firmer but still good to chew, but the majority was delicate, with very light lemon flavor and plenty of slightly roasted coblue slices, also a bit into the aioli, really good! The fries perfectly, but I have eaten only a few of them, as I wanted to enjoy as dessert my Spanish favorite dessert: Crema Catalana (4.50 € The homemade vanilla cream with warm caramel crust and is just as she should be inside soft and creamy, easy to taste for vanilla and lemon and not too sweet, top good crunchy. Often eaten here and always good! As a conclusion a hot, aromatic espresso for 2.00 € The following tapas I have eaten several times here and again very much liked! Gambas al ajillo (10,80 €) My absolute favorite Tapa: Shrimps in olive oil with garlic, pikantly cooked, I have enjoyed several times here. Served in the Cazuela, the typical Spanish tone shell, the Gambas perfectly cooked, the garlic oil hot and spicy, I don't need a chili-shaw in it. Boquerones a la vinagreta (4,90 € I love these anchovy fillets marinated in vinegar and garlic olive oil, with a lot of perejíl, as I have often eaten them in Spain. Solid meat, well drawn in the ÖL vinegar vinaigrette, beautifully sour with abundant garlic flavor. Decorated with two green and two black colored olives and a lemon carving. I always like to eat these boquerones. Boquerones fritos (5,80 € The fried anchovies are also among my favorite tapas. Well baked, hot and crispy the about fifteen former mariners came without being dry. With lemon juice, the rest of Aioli, a poem! Pulpo a la gallego (10,50 €) This well-known preparation of octopus can be found practically in all Spanish tapasbars. The octopode, boiled in a relatively complicated manner and then cut small, is buttery, with sweet pepper powder, the Spanish Pimentón, sprinkled and a good olive oil, and served lukewarm on slices of boiled potatoes. Enjoy! Salpicón de marisco (4,50 €) A seafood salad, predominantly made from pulpo cubes and two gambas, placed in spicy garlic oil, with pepper, tomato pieces, glazed onions and parsley. I tasted very good, but here I would like a greater variation of seafood. Patatas bravas (3,50 € potato corners with the homemade aioli and the spicy spicy salsa Brava, which is not visible on the photo. A simple dish, simple and gripping potatoes in egg, well seasoned and juicy and in combination with the two sauces extremely tasty. Costillas de cerdo 4,50 € Pig rib type of house that cooks ribbing and then briefly grilled, the meat is appealingly seasoned and taste really good with the overcrowded Salsa Brava, but could be a bit tenderer. Empanadillas con atún 4,80 €, dough pockets filled with tuna the two dough pockets were quite large and might have been baked a bit too long or too hot, because the dough was barely to cut, especially not the edge and overall very dry. The filling tasted clearly to tuna, but I could not recognize or taste other ingredients, as there was too little filling for my taste. Once eaten, but I will not order any more. Short conclusion: At any time like to be back! There is a lot to try!"
