Have eaten here on several occasions during the many frequent visits to Oberstdorf. The food has always been of a very high quality and the service friend and very professional. The menu has a good range of local dishes to chose from as well as...a daily menu. The local trout is excellent as well as pork. There is also a good wine list. Perhaps one day we will stay as well!

Went with friends last night. Had one of the nicest meals for quite a while. One of the things that's good is that there is plenty of room between tables so you're not listening to somebodies conversation. I picked a herring starter that really is...a main couse but they gave me a smaller version. Then I had venison which was really good. Some nice wine at a reasonable price rounded it off.

This restaurant also called 7 Schwaben is Always full. So you better make a reservation. There are 2 rooms; the right one is more cosy. The food is very good. I had choosen a Wiener Schnitzel, from real veal. There were 2 large pieces of...meat. Very good! The staff is friendly and you have time to make it slowly and enjoy. The Oberstdorfer Einkehr was always our favourite restaurant in Oberstdorf with its authentic Schwaben menu. It was always a special treat to go there. We booked a table tonight a Friday and were amazed we could get a table! As it is always booked up....Sadly the ownership has changed and the restaurant is not up to the same standard. It is just average now where before it was always excellent. The attention to detail has gone. We loved the traditional touches and high standard of service. The food is no better or worse than any average restaurant in Oberstdorf.

Am Tisch keine Tagesempfehlung bekommen, andere Nachbartische bekamen diese sofort. Der Kellner wirkte von Schmerzen geplagt und fragte nicht, ob es uns geschmeckt hat. Er räumte mit den Worten fertig? den Tisch ab. Mein leeres Bierglas stand mindestens 20 Minuten vor mir, obwohl er immer wieder vorbei ging. Nachdem auch das Glas meiner Freundin geleert war, legten wir als Zeichen bezahlen zu wollen, unsere beiden Geldbörsen auf den Tisch. Es kam eine Rechnung obwohl es offensichtlich war, dass getrennt bezahlt wird. Der Kommentar des Kellners: Wir hätten es vorher sagen sollen .
